Under the guise of soaking in the tub solo, I grabbed a change of clothes and a book, a pitcher snuck in under my clothes, some of that healing cream salve with numbing stuff, and I had my supplies.

About an hour into my endeavor, feeling so keyed up and frustrated, I just wanted to scream and lop my boobs off.

Why the fuck couldn’t I do this without assistance?! Why was everything like this so fucking hard for me?!!

With a seething hiss, I sighed, dropped my hands, washed up, and quickly dressed.

Slipping outside, bone dry pitcher in hand, I rounded the side of the house, intending to fill the pitcher with snow and try and freeze my titties into submission or at the very least numb these fuckers some, when I spied a bit of white pop up from the bushes.

A scream lodged in my throat and I dropped the pitcher in my hands. It clattered to the ground with a loud slap of pottery crashing onto rocks.

I’d only stepped out for a minute. Just one fucking minute! It had been done without thought.

Finding my voice, I screamed and turned to run but the furball in the bushes was way faster than me.

“Shhh. My Joalee. Shhh. It Buu, my Joalee. Shhhh.”

It took me a full minute, fighting like a hell cat, for his words to register. “Buu?” Whirling around, I stared into those wild purple eyes set in a white fluff monster package. It was him, if in his Lo denaii looking shifted form.

“I don’t- You left me,” I blurted, gaping up at him. “You- You left us!”

Buu shook his head wildly, hugging me to him. “No. Buu no leave. Buu follow, whole time. Joalee mates take Joalee, bring home, like my Joalee wants, yes?” With a pointed look at my hands, he perked up. “My Joalee feels better? Healers help?”

“Jeh-kal said Rek helped make Bump, not you,” I blurted as moisture filled my eyes.

“Bebeh Buu’s. Never leaves my Joalee,” Buu growled out softly, pressing a kiss to my forehead, his sharp breaths coasting over the top of my head. Tipping my head up towards him, his lips found mine immediately. “Bite,” he growled against my lips, pulling back to bare his neck to me.

Loud growls sounded before the thundering of footsteps pricked my ears. Buu stiffened as he held me in his arms, but he held his ground.

“JO!” Odix rounded the corner, a large pack strapped to his back, snow covering his shoulders.

That loud growl continued but it wasn’t far off.

“Odix!” Squeezing Buu, I let him go to launch myself at Odix.

Odix caught me up and I was kissing him before he could let out his next breath. His chest rumbled happily but his eyes remained open, narrowed, and trained on Buu.

Gopher rounded the corner, crashing into Celuk and Jeh-kal as they rushed out. I was sure Rek was mixed in there somewhere, pasted to someone’s butt at this point in their traffic jam.

Gopher’s nose lifted and he gave a loud sniff. With a growl, he snarled something and launched himself at Buu.

“NO!” Squirming to get free of Odix’s hold, I sank my teeth into Odix’s forearm when it looked like he meant to keep me from the danger.

Odix yowled but wouldn’t release me.

I was screaming my head off at this point. A sharp breath left me when he went to band an arm around my belly and I cried out.

With a shocked gasp, Odix immediately let me go.

Gopher and Buu were slashing at each other. Gopher looked half feral swiping at him with his claws extended. He moved so fast he was getting the better of Buu. Buu growled but kept trying to dodge instead of fighting back.

The second I was free, Celuk nabbed me right up. “He’s not hurting him! Make him stop!” I bellowed.

Celuk went to hand me off to Jeh-kal, as Odix was still standing there stupidly, gaping down at me, but Jeh-kal jumped right into the middle of it. Grabbing Gopher up by the back of his neck, he had to give him a few good shakes to get him to snap out of it.

Buu clutched his side. Stumbling back, he panted heavily.

He could heal super fast but he’d have to shift. Staring at him in stunned shock, my eyes screamed, Why aren’t you shifting?! Shift! while my mind struggled to catch up.
