“Hello.” Sarah smiled. “So, Sundays are for burlesque and the VIP section is closed. Would you mind helping the servers on the floor?”

“No, but I don’t know what to do.”

“Don’t worry, me and the other server, Lori, can show you the ropes.”

When she stepped up to the bar, she looked for Ares but couldn’t see him. Instead, Sarah introduced her to the bartender.

“Greg, this is Adira.”

“Oh, new blood.” He winked at her.

“Down, boy.” Sarah smiled at him before addressing her once more. “If you have any problem, just ask Greg. He knows everything. Just ask him, he’ll tell you.”

Greg clutched the area above his heart. “Ouch. But it’s true. I do know everything.”

Sarah rolled her eyes. “All right, Adria. Let’s leave Mister Tall, Dark, and Smarmy to his orders.”

The next few hours were about learning practically everything. How to place an order. How to hold a tray. How to put the drinks on the table without dropping anything. Luckily, most of the men ordered beer. Some wanted whiskey. And others wanted cola because they were driving. She also had to dodge a lot of hands wanting to touch her bottom.

By the end of the night, her feet ached, her back hurt, and she never saw Ares. She drove home and slept late the next day. When she went in to work Monday night, Ares stopped her by the time clock and asked to see her in his office. As soon as she stepped in, he yanked her to him and slammed his mouth onto hers. He traced her lips with his tongue, and when she opened, he plunged in. She kissed him back with a fire she’d never felt before. Maybe because, for the first time in her life, she knew what real desire felt like. The rush. The fire. Anything she had with Abel couldn’t hold a candle to what she felt with Ares and Hunter. When the kiss broke, she gulped air and licked her bottom lip to savor his taste.

“How was last night?”

“It was fine.”

He raised an eyebrow. “Just fine?”

“I stayed busy. I liked it.”

“Good.” He linked his fingers together behind her back and brought her closer to his body. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here. Club business.

“It’s fine, Ares. You don’t have to babysit me.” He opened his mouth, maybe with an explanation, and she placed a finger on his lips. “You don’t need to tell me anything.”

He nipped at the digit, smiling when she yanked it back. “Very well.”

“I better go,” she said, pulling away. He let his arms fall away. “Don’t want the boss to yell at me.”

He chuckled and she gave a little wave before leaving the office.

The rest of the week was like this. Ares always kissed her when she got there, they talked for a moment or two, and then she’d head onto the floor to start the night. By the end of her workweek, she was exhausted but also damn proud of herself. When she’d left home, she’d been a terrified girl, although she tried hard to push that fear aside. Each day, her confidence grew. By the time Friday evening arrived, she looked forward to being with the two men once more.

The sound of motorcycles could be heard coming down the street, and it caused her heart to speed up. Nerves had her running a hand down her jean-clad leg. She had stuffed a clean shirt and panties in her backpack, figuring those articles of clothing were more important than a pair of jeans.

“Hey,” Livia said, grabbing her attention. “Are you sure about this?”

Adira knew she meant sure about spending the night with Hunter and Ares. “Yes.”

“All right. If you need to extricate yourself, don’t hesitate to come find me.”

She nodded her agreement, and then the bikes came to park in the driveway. She put on her jacket and then slung on her backpack before meeting Hunter outside.

“Hey, beautiful,” he greeted, snagging an arm around her waist and pulling her in for a quick kiss. “Ready for some fun, baby girl?”

She nodded. He held out a helmet and tapped the seat behind him. Adira quickly strapped it on her head and then slid behind him. A moment later, they zoomed away, heading to the clubhouse. Twilight quickly gave way to night, and already people were partying. Music already belted through the speakers. Groups hung out around bonfires, drinking and laughing. The sweet smell of pot carried on the breeze.

Hunter parked and took hold of her hand.

“There’s my girl!” Ares called out. He sat near a metal burn barrel and firelight flickered over his face. Adira smiled as Hunter led them over. Ares jumped up to kiss her on the lips. “Missed you, sweetheart.”
