What was I doing with Aurik? The line between our act and reality had blurred, leaving me feeling vulnerable and exposed.
I squeezed my thighs, noticing the slick folds of my labia, and I imagined Aurik's strong, capable hands touching me. Or what had to be his huge cock in those pants thrusting into me over and over. I was certain that we did a great job in convincing the guard of our passionate encounter. Maybe too great a job. Was I also convincing myself?
The thought lingered as I caught my breath, and the cold grip of reality returned. I turned on my side. I needed to concentrate on more than just my basic sexual urges. Survival was key, and yet, I was unable to shake the feeling that something real might be growing between Aurik and me – something that could either save us or destroy us in the end.
Chapter Six
AURIK
The sun had barely risen the next morning as I trained in the yard alongside other fighters. My mind was busy with thoughts from last night with Sonya. Her body was a work of art - slender and curvy. Traces of her were still in my senses; the sound of her gasp, the scent of her arousal. The thought of exploring that area between her thighs.
Enough fantasies. I scolded myself as I picked up heavy iron weights and carried them across the yard. I kept exercising, but I couldn't shake the image of her soft hips and breasts, so tender and delicate. I found myself imagining what it would be like to have a family with Sonya, to nurture our children together. The thought never crossed my mind before, but now it consumed me.
"Hey, Aurik, you're spacing out there," Teraqi, one of the lighter weight fighters, called out. "What's got you so distracted?"
"Just recounting last night,” I answered, allowing him to think I meant my fight with Raze.
"That bout is over. Get back into the game." He threw a fake punch my way. I deflected it.
"Right. Can't let my guard down."
As I moved through the motions of my training, I sensed hope for the first time in a long while. The connection I shared with Sonya breathed new life into my soul, fueling the desire to survive and protect her above all else. But I knew dreaming of a future together was a dangerous game to play.
Movement caught my eye from across the yard. Sonya and the other females crossed the path to go from their living quarters to the other part of the complex to prepare food and start the day’s tasks.
I eyed her from a distance. I wanted to know more about her, to discover what kind of life she led on Earth before finding herself here. Was it a life filled with adventure and excitement? Or was she just curious about the universe beyond her own planet?
As much as I wanted to learn everything there was to know about her, fear panged in me at the thought of our inevitable separation. Once she was out of Korga's grasp, would she go back to Earth? My bond towards her was growing stronger, making the thought of being apart unbearable.
"Aurik Synchronar.” Raze's voice bombed my thoughts as he launched an attack from behind. I barely managed to dodge his blow, countering with a swift punch of my own.
"Damn." He laughed, rubbing his jaw where I'd struck him. "If you were that distracted during our last match, the outcome might've been different."
"I have a lot on my mind.”
"Clearly. If those thoughts involve figuring out how to get the fuck out of here, keep thinking."
"We have to stay under the radar.” I glanced around to make sure none of the guards were paying attention to our conversation. "You know they’re always watching."
Raze nodded, his voice low and serious. "I won't say shit around them. Just let me know when you come up with a plan."
"Will do," I agreed, clapping him on the shoulder. Sonya and I had another ally.
As we commenced training again, I noticed the guards' eyes on us, their gaze full of suspicion and mistrust. I knew I had to keep my friendships with the other fighters discreet. To divert their attention, I moved away from Raze and approached Lyro the Thunderbringer, a fighter whose reputation preceded him.
"Care to spar?" I asked. His skin crackled with electrical energy, creating a weapon that filled the air around him. Lyro's eyes emitted a lightning-like glow, a constant reminder of his internal power.
"Let’s go," he grunted. I knew better than to get too close. One false move could leave me severely injured, or worse. With that in mind, I also knew that Lyro's electrical prowess came at a price. Once unleashed, it took time for him to recharge, leaving him vulnerable in combat.
As we began our spar, I tried to engage him in conversation. "I know a combatant like you doesn't prefer to use his power to entertain crowds with firecrackers."
"Flattering me won't help you win the next fight," Lyro huffed as we traded punches, each one landing with bone-jarring force.
"Who said anything about winning?" I replied, dodging an arcing electrical current that sprung from Lyro's fist. "How long have you been in?"
"Five miserable damn weeks. You?"
"Three months. I don't want to see another winter frost hanging from Korga's warty face." I paused, catching my breath.
