What now?

Where did this leave them?

Were they fuck buddies or did Justice want more?

Were fuck buddies okay? Because it had been good. No, it had been fantastic. The sex had been off the Richter scale and he was confident Justice felt the same way.

But it wouldn’t last, or one would forget.

He always forgot.

He hated that his mind played tricks on him. He was a killer. He was an assassin. He didn’t particularly care about people all that much except for the lost boys which not only included Echo and Rogue, but other boys who’d gone through the same thing he had.

So why Justice?

He wasn’t one of them.

As if sensing his unease, Justice swept rough fingers through his long hair, fanning it out and slowly untangling the mass. The man’s touch sent a shiver down his spine he couldn’t contain.

“Shut your mind off,” Justice murmured, pressing his lips to his temple.

That was easier said than done.

Fisher held back a bitter laugh.

“Damn it, Fish.”

Fisher tried not to laugh at the annoyance in Justice’s voice, but he couldn’t stifle the snicker.

It felt fucking good to laugh though, really good. He’d done more of that over the past few weeks than he’d done in a long fucking time and he had the hot blond hunk at his side to thank for that.

If someone would have asked him a few months ago if he’d be spending his nights in Justice’s bed and his days killing targets with the man at his side, Fisher would have called them fucking nuts.

Yet, here he was with Justice, taking out a mark by the name of Charles Watson. The guy was one of the FBI’s most wanted for being a family annihilator. The last house Watson had hit had been a family of five. Inside surveillance had captured the fucker killing two adults and three children.

These were the hits that Fisher enjoyed.

“You got those pics?”

“Most of them,” Justice said, sliding closer.

They were wedged between two buildings that sat across the street from Watson’s new address. The guy thought he could move to Chicago and disappear amongst the masses, but nobody escaped Erebus.

Erebus was a network of assassins that did jobs across the country but mostly worked in the West. They also had Genesis, a newly formed group of military assassins, who assisted when they needed information on a job such as this.

Stepping up behind him, Justice slipped an arm around his waist and pulled him back against his crotch.

“That’s gotta wait, big guy,” he whispered and wriggled.

“You’re killing me, Slim.” Justice made a low sound and nuzzled into the back of his neck where he’d tied his long hair back.

They’d only been this easy with each other for the past few weeks, so everything felt new.

His dick surged at the same time the mark came out of the house and locked the door.

“Well, shit. We can’t kill him out here.”

“We can wait for him to come back.” Justice ran one of his rough palms beneath the front of his shirt and caressed his abs.
