Mikhail frowns. “But we need to find Vitali… one of them will break, I'm sure of it, boss.”
I take a bite of my toast. “We don’t need to interrogate them, Vitali has a big ego, and he rules with his emotions, not with his head. He will make a mistake. Send the message, kill them all and hang their bodies somewhere on display. Somewhere that will send a message to him and to his men. We are the Bratva, we own Russia,” I seethe. My good mood is slipping from having to deal with this shit rather than spending more time with Theia. “You found the men that ambushed Theia in her room?” I ask.
Mikhail shakes his head. “Nyet, they wiped the security cameras. Oleg is sure it was Vitali’s men.”
My blood boils. “You find them, you hunt them down but don’t kill them, you bring them to me. I want to kill them personally, slowly and painfully,” I state. “And you warn your cousin that I am fucking pissed. If he wasn’t your cousin, I would have shot him for not doing his job,” I warn. Mikhail nods, knowing that Oleg is on thin ice. I didn’t like the fucker before, but the family has worked with my family a long time and they have my respect.
A small cough catches mine and Mikhail’s attention. “Zhena?” Mikhail asks, smirking at me. I stand, brushing the crumbs from my hands. I smile at Theia, stood there in a robe, her hair all dishevelled.
I lean down to Mikhail. “You know it, so make sure they all respect her. After all, she will be your future queen,” I state.
Mikhail nods and stands with me, nodding his head at Theia. “I just wouldn’t leave telling her everything much longer, boss, because the last thing you want is for someone else to tell her.” I give him a glare––he knows I do not accept any orders from anyone. He holds up his hands. “I'm just saying, between me and my zhena, if I lie and she catches me out on it, my life isn’t worth living. Believe me, and I've been shot and stabbed. That was easier than dealing with the wrath from her,” he states.
“What’s zhena?” Theia asks as she approaches, catching our conversation. She is stood too far away so I reach for her waist and pull her to me. She shyly looks down, clearly embarrassed by my move in front of Mikhail.
“It means wife. I was just telling boss here how she is always right.” Mikhail winks at Theia. She laughs and nods.
“That is correct, women are always right.” She laughs.
I sigh and give Mikhail the fuck off glare, and he nods. “Pleasure to meet you, Miss,” he greets before turning to me. “Excuse me, boss, I will sort out the situation and report back to you this afternoon.”
“He seems nice,” Theia states.
“You’ve been stood in my arms for approximately three minutes, and you are still yet to kiss me,” I point out, ignoring her statement about Mikhail.
She rolls her eyes. “I'm sorry, am I supposed to kiss his lordship as soon as I enter the room?” she asks sarcastically.
I wrap her hair around my fist and pull, making her tilt her head back. She gasps and I lean in, stopping just a millimetre from her lips. “If I'm in the room, you are to ignore everyone else until you have greeted me with that mouth of yours.” I don’t let her contest as I take her mouth with mine, kissing her. I stop abruptly. “Remember, Kroschka, you are mine, and whenever you are with me, I will make sure that everyone else will know it,” I threaten. I see the heat flare in her eyes, and I smile. “Sit, eat.” I release her hair and guide her to a seat.
“You know you can be really bossy,” she mutters as she sits down.
“Kroschka,” I growl in warning. She smiles, biting her lip. I reach over, removing her lip from her teeth, and she surprises me by nipping my thumb. I raise my eyebrow at her. “I wouldn’t play with me, there is still a lot you need to learn.”
Her demeanour changes and she straightens her back. “I'm not some in-experienced little virgin, you know? I've slept with men before you. I've done things that were very kinky. I've even had a three––”
Before she can finish, I am out of my chair, my hand wrapped around her throat, and her eyes flash with fear. “Do not ever talk about past men, I do not want to know what you have and haven’t done. I like control, you are mine. Your body is mine. Do I make myself clear?” I warn.
She smiles and nods. I let go of her throat and she leans across the table towards me, still smiling sweetly before she spits in my face. “Fuck you,” she seethes before she sweeps all the food, cutlery and cups onto the floor. I don’t move, I just stay seated, watching her perfect round arse sway as she storms off. “Fuck you, Kaid!” she yells, flipping me off over her shoulder.
My security move to go after her but I shake my head. “Let her go,” I order. I grab a napkin and wipe the spit from my face, and I can’t help but smile. Mikhail walks in and his steps falter. “What the fuck happened?” he asks.
“Nothing but tell me what you want and then leave me for the next few hours,” I order.
He nods and shakes his head. “Sure thing, boss. The five men are dead and we are going to hang them up outside the central tower. Will talk later,” he states before walking off.
“Good. I will message when I am available to speak,” I inform him as I walk behind him.
“Yes, boss. Oh and, boss, one more thing,” he calls after me before I walk to Theia’s room. “She's right.”
I turn to him. “Pardon, Mikhail?”
“Women are always right.” He laughs before walking off.
I sigh walking down the hall to her room. I can hear things being thrown and smashed, and I smile. I always did like a challenge.
