I touched my nose to Creed’s and nuzzled him. “Are you Ghrowl?”

He shook his head.

“Is Daddy?”

“No, Mama. Silly.”

Creed poked Grim in the chest. “Grrrr.”

“Daddy is Grrrr?”

Creed beamed a grin. “Yes!”

G.G. Ghrowl and Grrrr.

I finally got it. It clicked. “Grim, let the Reaper say hi to Creed.”

He flicked his gaze to mine. “You sure?”

“Yeah. I want to test something.”

Grim’s face transformed, and his Reaper pushed through, allowing enough of his presence to be recognized.

“Ghrowl!” Creed shouted, clapping his hands.

The Reaper laughed. “He knows my name.”

Wait. The Reaper had a name? Why didn’t I think of that before now?

“You are mine,” he rumbled, grasping my chin before kissing me. “As the child is also mine.” His hand lowered to my stomach. “You will give me another soon.”

Oh. Wow. How did he know that?

Was I pregnant already?

The Reaper’s lips twitched. “Not yet.”

Ohhhhhh. I could feel my cheeks heating from a blush. He meant he would be practicing until it happened.

“Beautiful.” His fingers brushed the skin on my face. “Ours to protect.”

Yes, I understood that. It was still odd sometimes to comprehend that Grim shared space with the Reaper. But they really were two different beings who shared his body. And I honestly didn’t mind because I got both of them.

“I’m yours. Both,” I agreed.

The Reaper loved to hear it. He craved it.

“So you’re Ghrowl.”

“Yes.”

“Creed loves you. You play together at night, don’t you?”

“Often.”

“But Grim is sleeping.”

“A child can see what adults can’t. He’s innocent. Untainted.”
