“You’ve explained why you would leave the way you did, but you did not say why, Kitty. Now you tell me straight or that paddle will get it from you.”

The threat was hollow only in that she wanted it. She wanted to be punished and forgiven by this formidable man.

“I am torn. I have never had what we shared, and I want more, Gregor. I want you to be mine.”

“And? That is a problem for you? Why not just tell me?”

“Because.” Claire gulped. She was about to share her big naughty secret. The one she believed would have Gregor dumping her on the floor and fleeing for his sanity out the door.

“Because?”

Unbidden tears gathered, making it hard to see. “Because I want him too, just as much, and I can’t choose, so it was easier to leave.”

Claire dropped her gaze back to the table. A spanking would have been so much easier than telling him her dirty secret.

Gregor’s lap began to shake. Peeping up at him, she saw him trying to not laugh. What the? Why did he find her confession funny?

Glaring at him defiantly only seemed to compound his humor even more and Gregor was soon laughing so hard he had tears leaking down his cheeks.

“Oh yes please, laugh at me. Ha-ha, glad you’re having a good time at my expense.”

That seemed to sober him slightly and after a few deep breaths, he was calm enough to speak. “I’m sorry, Kitty, but your dirty little secret is music to my ears.”

Claire was thoroughly confused. “I don’t understand.”

“Atticus and I have best friends since we were thirteen years old. We share everything.”

Did he just confirm one of her suspicions? “So, you share women is what you’re saying. I can be with you both and neither of you will get jealous?”

“Yes and no. We don’t share women in the way you are thinking, Claire. Atticus and I have been searching forthe woman. The one who completes us, the one who will be ours forever. No one has even come as close to being as perfect for us as you, but Atticus wanted to test you. Hell, so did I, to ensure you were exactly what you seemed to be.”

Her heart soared, maybe she could have her fantasy for real. “Wait, how do I seem?”

Gregor appeared thoughtful as if contemplating best how to describe how she appeared to him… to them. “You are my sweet submissive kitty who likes a little pain and is open to trying anything.”

“And my little Marian who needs her Daddy to spoil her rotten and keep her happy.”

“Atticus? You’re awake!” she squealed jumping off Gregor’s lap and racing to him in front of the fire.

“The one and only.”

Claire straddled his mummified body and rained kisses down on every inch of his gorgeous face.

“Help, I’m on fire,” Atticus joked.

Gregor lifted her off and moved her away, unwrapping Atticus from his mummified state. “How are you feeling?”

“I have a headache and my knee hurts like a son of a bitch but otherwise right as rain.”

Gregor sighed and Claire realized at that moment how worried the big bossman had been for his friend but had kept his worry to himself and took care of both of them. She loved them. She hadn’t known it until right then, but she knew it was true.

“Claire, love, get some water and Gatorade from the fridge.”

Love? Did Gregor feel it too?

She scurried away and hurried back with the two bottles. Gregor cracked each bottle and handed them to Atticus one at a time. Demanded he drink more when the bottles were only half downed. Rolling his eyes, Atticus did as he was told, and Claire realized that Gregor really was the bossman and would be the head of their trio.

Their trio.She couldn’t believe it.
