“I’ll warm up the truck.”
Her cheeks flushed, and she bit down on her lip. After a few seconds of silence, she folded her arms across her gorgeous breasts. “I need my clothes.”
“And you’ll have them.” Grant leaned into her, kissing the sweet hollow of her neck. “When I say you can.”
Her eyes darted to me, but I would not be an ally. If Grant had a naughty plan up his sleeve, I’d like to see how it played out. “You agreed, prancer.”
“Ugh. What if I get pulled over?”
“Your car is safe for the night. I’ll bring you back tomorrow afternoon.” Grant apparently had enough of the back and forth. “Once the truck is nice and toasty, I’ll drive you to my house.” He nodded to me. “What do you say, Dalton?”
“I agree.” I leaned forward and kissed Kendall’s cheek. “Don’t worry, darling. We are nowhere near done with you yet.”
She swallowed hard and her pupils dilated as she processed the implications behind my statement.
“I’m going to combust if you and Grant keep talking like that. I’m starting to believe that you’ll follow through with your threats and your promises.”
“Yes, prancer.” I attempted to keep the smirk off my lips and failed. “It’s about time you take me seriously.” She rested her head on my shoulder and I looped an arm around her.
One brat handled. One to go.
Chapter 5
Kendall
I was quiet as a mouse the entire ride to Grant’s house. I’d curled up with my head on his thigh, and he played with my pigtails, lightly pulling them. He talked about random things, stuff going on around his ranch, at the bar. Nothing serious, but it was hard to focus when my butt had a delicious sting left from his palm. After the conversation at the fair, I wasn’t sure if he meant everything he’d said, but now I was convinced he was serious. Somehow, he cared about me, and he wanted me to be the best girl I could be. I didn’t think I was special enough for all his and Dalton’s attention, but I wasn’t silly enough to bring it up to either of them. Grant parked next to his house and turned the engine off.
“Did you fall asleep, sweet girl?”
“No, Daddy,” I muttered, then immediately sat up. “I, uh, sorry, Grant. It’s just you spanked me, and the pet name and…”
“Shh, darling.” He unbuckled his seatbelt and mine, pulling me closer. We didn’t have much room with the steering wheel blocking us. “You can call me whatever you’re comfortable with. I’d very much like to be your Daddy.”
“And Dalton too? Like both of you?”
“I’m pretty sure Dalton is open minded when it comes to titles. We both want you to be happy.”
“But what will makeyouhappy?”
Grant kissed me. A full-on passionate kiss that left me writhing on the seat. He cupped the back of my head, keeping me in place. I darted my tongue into his mouth, tasting him. He smelled like the warmest amber and cedarwood cologne that reminded me of home. In his arms, nothing else seemed to matter. He would protect me, just like Dalton, and I’d blossom under his watchful eyes.
He pulled back, releasing me. “I’ve been denying myself a lot of things, Kendall. Our relationship is what’s been missing in my life. I’m sorry for not seeing it sooner.”
“So, you’re saying you think Dalton and I can make you happy?”
“No one canmakeanother person happy, sweet girl, but I think we’ll all be a lot more fulfilled together. That can, in turn, bring an immense amount of happiness just in time for the holidays.”
“Before you get any ideas, one spanking didn’t ease all my worries away.”
“No, but maybe several will.”
My lower lip trembled. “Si-Sir,” I stammered. “I think you missed my whole point.”
The darkness of the cab prevented me from seeing his facial expression, but he chortled. “I heard you.”
I barely wrapped my head around the entirety of his statement before he swept me up against his chest and headed inside. Dalton met us at the door.Damn it. He shouldn’t look so handsome standing with one arm against the top of the frame. He had his jump bag with him as well as another bag, likely containing extra clothes or other essential items since he was used to plans changing at the last minute. Something his job prepared him for.
Dalton was giving off ‘bad boy’ vibes wearing his leather jacket and earring, but he was one of the kindest people I’d ever met. Nothing about Dalton would place him in the ‘bad boy’ bucket. Unfortunately, as my brother hinted at earlier, I had dated far too many men who played me. I wouldn’t go down that path again.
