“Well leave me alone then. I have nothing else to say to you.”

“Are you done being dramatic?” Jaxon barked out with barely suppressed savagery.

“Go to hell,” I snapped back.

His eyes were full of intent and he released a drawn-out sigh, it sounded pained. “Fine, then you leave me no choice.”

Before I knew what he intended, Jaxon bent forward, lifted me off my feet and slung me over his shoulder.

The impact of my body hitting that hard blade caused me to grunt; robbing me of my breath.

It took every inch of willpower at my disposal to stop myself from pounding his back with my fists, but I had run out of energy. I just dangled there limply; my hair draped past his buttocks like a curtain as he hoisted me up further. He then started to climb the stairs. A mixture of raw emotions slapped me in the face.

“I think you should let me down Jaxon, before I yell my head off,” I gasped breathlessly, my words coming out bouncy as his shoulder bit into my stomach. I attempted to lift my head but then flopped it back down again, the view behind me as he tackled the stairs was rather scary.

“I mean it, I’ll scream!”

“Like I give a shit. Scream away. No one will do anything. They know I’ll beat the shit out of them if they try it,” he stated in an arrogant voice.

“Jaxon, I fucking mean it!”

“Language. What happened to that sweet and innocent little girl I met?”

I almost choked on that one. “She inherited an arsehole for a stepbrother.”

Jaxon tutted as he continued the climb and my stomach flipped. “I’d forgotten what a mouthy little brat you could be.”

“Up yours.” I knew I was being unladylike but what could you do?

“Don’t you ever just shut the hell up,” Jaxon grunted as he got to the landing. I was partly relieved we’d made it.

“Jaxon!” I shouted, in a put-me-down tone, wiggling my legs. He didn’t even break his stride. My yell resulted in Jaxon smacking me on the backside once, but it was hard. Heat shot through one soft cheek and I squirmed slightly at the stinging sensation. My body enjoyed it too, feeling his hands on me like that. My underwear was probably drenched. I liked being spanked it appeared. Who knew I’d be into the kinky stuff? I heard Jaxon chuckle at my reaction and it was the sexiest thing I had ever heard.

He left his hand against the cheek he had struck, either to ensure I stayed in place or because he wanted to; there was no way of knowing. And if truth be told, I didn’t want him to move it. I like the possessive way his fingers curved around that area.

I could only see the floor but knew we had passed my room. That meant that Jaxon was taking me to his bedroom. A thousand thoughts drove away the mortification I’d felt at Jaxon telling his brother and Melody that we’d had sex.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as Jaxon used his other shoulder to open his door. Once inside he kicked it closed with the back of his heel. Excitement jetted through me at the thought of what was to come. I was angry with him but I still wanted him like mad. Anticipation pumped through me.

In three strides, Jaxon crossed his room, I could only see his carpet. It was a deep grey colour and looked incredibly thick.

“Stay,” Jaxon commanded as he slid me off his shoulder and onto the softness of a mattress; aka his bed. Blood ran faster through my veins.

I landed on my bottom, managing to hold myself forward by propping my elbows behind me and pushing upward. I then shook my hair out of my face and shot a look around the area with my legs akimbo. My skirt had ridden up, exposing my pale thighs.

Swallowing nervously, I saw Jaxon’s broad back. He was at his bedroom door and was in the process of locking it. Fear and excitement intermingled.

His bedroom was extremely masculine; all decorated in grey and black with the furnishings having a contemporary design. The bed was huge with dark grey sheets, I felt tiny sprawled in the centre of it and I wondered fleetingly how many girls had been in this position. I squashed the thought before it caused me further pain.

The walls were painted a pale grey, contrasting with the darker shade of his flooring. There was a unit down one wall which shelved Blu-ray DVDs and books. A large flat-screen TV was set on the wall opposite the bed and there was a huge desk with what appeared to be some type of gaming station set up there. I hadn’t had him down as a gamer, weren’t those types of guys dorks? Mirrors lined the other wall and I imagined they were his wardrobes. The pictures on the walls were mainly of military-type images. The speakers on either side of the room were huge, hence the volume they omitted.

Dragging my thoughts back, Jaxon spoke. “Now,” he began as he faced me, staring down as I lay sprawled on his bed. “Now we can have our little chat without an audience.”

“I never wanted an audience,” I replied starchily.

“You were the one who ordered them to stay, what did you expect?”
