“You’re not staying in. It’s our last night here and we have some chaos to cause.” Chad opened the bottle of tequila and took a swig before passing it to Kenny.

Kenny shook his head. “I’m good, man.”

Chad plopped down on the bed and lay down, crossing his arms. “You know I’m not going to leave until you get dressed and come out.” He smirked, taking another swig of tequila. “I can call the rest of the team in here.” He rolled over to grab the hotel phone.

“Fiiiiine.” Kenny rolled his eyes.

“Yes!” yelled Chad.

“Can you get your asses out of here so I can change?”

Chad gave him a little salute and stood up from the bed. He marched dramatically toward the door. “See you in the lobby in five.” Nico followed behind him, smirking at Kenny.

Kenny shut the door behind them and got dressed in a pair of black jeans and a grey long-sleeved shirt. He headed downstairs and saw his team waiting outside the lobby doors. A party bus had just pulled up, with colorful lights flashing from inside. That had to be Chad’s doing. Kenny let out a sigh and met his teammates outside.

The bus started the drive toward the city as they cracked open a few beers and music blasted through the speakers. They probably only drove for about fifteen minutes before reaching their first stop. It was a nightclub with a line wrapped around the building. The driver of the bus got off and talked to security briefly, who looked toward the bus curiously. He nodded and then waved to them. They clambered off the bus and he lifted the velvet rope, letting them pass. Everyone in the line groaned.

Inside, Chad stayed true to his word and bought everyone a round of shots. He was happy to order from the bartenders, who were all wearing bikinis and go-go boots. Kenny cheered his teammates before taking his shot. He didn’t want to get too crazy tonight. He was still feeling defeated and tired. Instead, he’d keep an eye on his teammates and make sure no one got into too much trouble. If anything, they would keep him entertained.

He leaned against the bar and watched as a few of his teammates made their way onto the dance floor. Nico found a pretty brunette to dance with, and Chad had convinced one of the bartenders to leave her post. None of them really had any moves, but the girls didn’t seem to care. Kev then walked out with gusto. He spotted a blonde girl at a high-top and asked her to dance, but she politely shook her head no. He didn’t seem to get the hint because he grabbed her hand and tried pulling her onto the floor. She snatched her hand back and shook her head.

Kenny moved to step in. He knew Kev could be a creep.

“Hey, man, I think she said no. Let’s go get another drink.” He patted Kev on the back and nodded toward the bar.

“Mind your business, man.” Kev jerked away from him.

“But one of the bartenders was asking for you,” Kenny lied.

Kev took a look at the bar and smiled before turning to walk away, but not before saying, “You’re not that cute, anyway,” to the girl.

She shook her head and let out a soft laugh as she watched Kev go. Kenny turned to follow, but she put her hand on his arm.

“Thank you,” she said.

Kenny looked down at her. She was pretty and had a nice smile. Her eyes were a dark blue, and they were eyeing him eagerly. Her black dress left little to the imagination and his eyes couldn’t help but wander momentarily.

“No problem.” He flashed her a smile.

“Do you want to dance?” she asked, leaning in closely.

“What?” He could barely hear her over the music.

She leaned in closer, pressing her body against his and standing on her tiptoes so her face was close to his.

“Do you want to dance?” she asked again.

He knew this would be a one-night thing. She was hot. They were leaving tomorrow. Why not? But for some reason, looking down at this girl, he saw Cleo flash through his mind. She was in her pink sundress and high-tops. Effortlessly beautiful, and completely unaware of it. Kenny smiled at the thought of her.

“You know I’d love to, but I should really keep an eye on the rest of my team,” said Kenny.

“Team? Are you an athlete?” asked the blonde.

Kenny nodded distractedly before turning to join Nico and Chad at the bar.

“Please tell me you’re coming over here to buy that girl a drink,” said Chad, eyeing the blonde.

“Sorry to disappoint.” Kenny shrugged.
