Parker grunts, folding his arms across his chest. He’s a few years older than my 30 but still younger than Kolsen by a good five. Unfortunately, the poor man looks like he’s in his early 50s. “Look, Sasha. I appreciate your dedication. And even though you look like a Beta, you’re still an Omega. Your Alphas should be here with you.”
My playful expression drops and I stop teasing my piercings and collar, the fun from the moment ripped out from beneath me. His gaze is firmly locked onto the twin bites on either side of my neck, my Alphas’ bonds a ball and chain where this Alpha is concerned. Parker is just another one of those Alphas that believe Omegas aren’t good for much more than pleasing their mates. I’m sure he believes I should be in my nest, presenting my ass so that I can get fucked and knotted.
I probably shouldn’t tell Parker that I have several nests and most of the time I'm dragging one or both of my Alphas into it so that I can ride them to high heaven.
“Parker-”
“Don’t finish that,” a gruff voice comes from my right before a finger tugs the metal links of my collar and drags me forward. My lips smash against Amiri’s as I brace myself against the lip of the booth between us. I groan into the possessive kiss, realizing that he needs this moment to center himself again.
I may enjoy my social freedom but I fucking love when one or both of my Alphas possessively display who I belong to. “Ames, something on your mind?” I ask when I pull back, a little breathless. Parker has miraculously disappeared but he’ll show up later to complain about something else. I glance around them and then frown. “Aren’t you two supposed to be manning that kiss booth thing?” I can’t imagine either one of them presenting a good front when it comes to those cheesy charity stands.
My mates are a little terrifying when people first meet them and Kolsen is kind of a dick when he wants to be. Amiri, as dominant as he is behind closed doors, is awkward in public. Case in point the way he straightens up and then pushes his glasses up his nose with one finger, his gray eyes wide with an innocence that doesn’t make sense.
Kolsen doesn’t answer as he steps inside the booth and sits on the stool I was previously occupying before dragging me into his lap. He stuffs his face into my neck, nibbling at the skin. That’s when I catch the sweet undertones of spring and pomegranates and honey. I push against his chest, confused. “Wait, why do you smell like… I thought Amiri was kissing people.” It’s not an accusation, just a surprise.
I love my Alphas equally, maybe Kolsen just a little bit more for what life has put him through. Disfigured from a fire that he was saving my sorry ass from has made him unapproachable in many people’s minds. If they only knew that he had fought my abusive ex-Alpha to get to me, maybe they’d give him a little grace. Outside of the patrons that go to Temple, many people avoid Kolsen. Add in the fact that he towers over nearly everyone, those broad shoulders remnant of a military career and missions he doesn’t speak about and Kolsen doesn’t find love easily.
Running my fingers across his scars, Kolsen leans into my touch as I wait for an answer.
“Ames met his crush, Sash,” Kolsen rumbles. “The cute little Beta from the coffee shop he always goes on about.”
My face brightens at the idea that I’ll finally be able to meet the one woman who’s been able to catch my Alpha’s attention. We’ve always had an open relationship with one rule—no one in the nest. Experimentation has always been a heavy part of our pack and I love that one of them can find something they enjoy if I don’t. I don’t even care who they bring home or who they fuck so long as they stay away from my nests. We’ve never had a problem with the way our pack runs, especially since none of us have ever wanted to date any of our one-night stands. But the cafe girl Amiri constantly mentions has me enthralled.
His descriptions always make her seem so perfect. From her cute dresses to the smile that lights up a room and her nearly waist-length hair that he wants to run his fingers through… Amiri has definitely fallen for that woman.
“Wait? Did she kiss you? Is this her scent? Why is it on Kol?” I sniff again, finding the scent heaviest on Kolsen’s lips. Curious, I kiss my Alpha, groaning as spring envelopes me in this warm cocoon of honey. “Holy shit, she kissed you. Where is she?” My own scent spikes, heat bleeding through my limbs. If I’m not careful, I’ll have a true spike out here on the fairgrounds and the only way to get through it will be for one of my Alphas to knot me.
“Sasha,” Kolsen growls as he wraps a fierce hand around my neck. “You aren’t taking your heat suppressants.” His thumb caresses the line of my jaw, softening the harshness of his words. The heat suppressants were my idea, the need to be able to truly lose myself in the business without the threat of slick and being out of commission for a week. I haven’t had a real heat in almost a year and it’s been a glorious change from the three-month cycle I used to be on.
“I missed a few doses and it’s too late to start up again until the heat has passed.”
“Why didn’t you say something?” Amiri asks. “I thought you were a little off this morning but I thought that was just the fair thing.”
“It’s fine. I’m fine. Let’s get back to the girl that tastes like spring. Where is she?” I try to twist out of Kolsen’s hold but he has me locked down on his lap, Amiri moving into the booth to run a hand across my curls before taking up a seat beside us. “What aren’t you two telling me?” Another tendril of heat spreads through me and it takes me a moment to realize that it has nothing to do with my impending heat and everything to do with her scent. “Fuck, she’s ours, isn’t she? Why didn’t you-”
Amiri glares at me and I just huff, impatient for an answer to all my questions. I know that Amiri won’t give them to me, however. He doesn’t speak much, preferring to be the one in the background until the doors are closed. Then every dirty, nasty word that comes from his lips has me on fire and aching for him.
Kolsen turns me around until my back is against his chest, his arms banded around my waist. He presses his cheek against mine as we look over at Amiri. “I had never met Ames’ crush before either but she’s gorgeous. The funniest thing is that the church has been hiding away our mate.”
I pause. “What are you talking about?”
“Our mate, Ames’ crush here, is Ezra’s daughter.” Kolsen chuckles, the sound shooting straight for my dick.
The pastor’s daughter? That’s impossible. It also makes me all sorts of excited knowing that if she lets us, I will enjoy every last minute ruining her.
Just as I’m about to comment on it, Amiri is in front of me, tugging on the metal around my neck. The gesture only makes me smile like the shit that I am as I lick my lips. “Are you going to play with me in public Alpha?”
His gray eyes darken to nearly black and for a moment, I think he might break loose. He doesn’t but every muscle in his jaw tightens and his nostrils flare as my scent sweetens. “Sasha, do not test my restraint or I will have you crying for my knot tonight and I won’t give it to you.” An Alpha denying their Omega a knot? The threat should have me furious. It has the opposite effect, though, as I sigh and lean forward, desperate for a kiss.
Kolsen keeps me seated on his lap, even as his cock thickens against my ass. “Ames, back off. Our Omega is starting to perfume and we have a few hours before we can go back home. As much as I enjoy a public show, not here.” His gruff voice ruins the moment but does nothing to dissipate the heat running through me.
“I could use a good hard fuck right now.”
My Alphas chuckle, Amiri releasing me and Kolsen pushing me to my feet. “And you would have had one this morning before we left if we knew you weren’t on your suppressants.”
“We have work to do.”
“And your heat is not an obstacle to that. It’s a part of our lives. A very enjoyable part of that. You do not need to suppress it for us or anyone else,” Kolsen purrs. He lovingly pats my ass before nodding to the front. “Let’s finish up here and then we can go home to give you what you need.”
