When Anais finally breaks the hug, she beams at me, hands on my biceps. “So, I hear you’re in love now?” I stick two fingers down my throat and gag, which makes Anais giggle. “You’re so in love, you and Callie are like two love sick puppies now and I'm left here on the shelf.”
I wrap an arm around her shoulders and tip my head to her cheek. “We’d never leave you for those two hockey buffoons, but I am sorry for being a shitty friend these past few months. Tell me what’s been going on with you.”
She lifts her shoulders in a tired shrug and squashes some more mango into her blender. “Not much, my grandad went into a nursing home two weeks ago, so that’s been kind of hard,” she shrugs again and I can see the weight of it in her deep frown. “But apart from that, I'm ok Mol, don’t worry about me.”
“I do though…worry about you I mean.” I sigh, dropping a peck to her cheek as I head to the fridge. “You know I'm always here right? If you need me,”
Anais nods, a smile gracing her face. “Yeah Mol, I know and I love you for it.”
I dip my head once in a brief nod and bury my nose in the fridge, my stomach growing angrily, but my heart singing with happiness.
Chapter 39
Kyle
Sean and I don't make it out of the rink until 6pm and both of us are itching to get home to our girls, they’ve been bombarding us with photos of the living room. The coffee table is littered with snacks, more than I know for a fact, any of us can stomach…well, maybe Sean can, the man’s like a human dustbin. Molly and Callie have chosen a film, no doubt it’s a cringey, vomit worthing movie. But to be honest, I'm kind of in the mood to just dig my face into Molly’s neck and fall asleep, so I don’t really give a shit about the movie they’ve chosen. The two of them have been attacking Sean and I via text for the last hour. Since we told them we’d be home by 5:30pm and it’s now half an hour past that, as we walk out of the rink into the lingering warmth of the setting sun. Coach was in a particularly harsh mood tonight, throwing extra drills at us like we'd massively pissed him off, especially Sean, who to be fair, likely irritates Coach just by existing right now. Sean was the one who knocked up Coach’s daughter and made him a grandad at the age of 52, which he wasn’t best pleased about for a while. Actually, it’s taken him almost all of Callie’s pregnancy to get his head around the idea. “Fucking hell, Callie has totally blown up my phone in the last half an hour.” Sean huffs, shoving a hoodie over his still damp curls. “She’s threatening to leave my name off our baby’s birth certificate, if I don’t get home in the next twenty-minutes.” He laughs, planting a solid hand on the back of my shoulder as I swing my locker door closed. “Watch yourself man, you might end up like me if you’re not careful. Remember,” he leans closer, his voice a whisper. “Always wrap it before you go in, otherwise you might end up like me.” He smiles brightly after a moment. “I love them both, so much it makes me crazy sometimes, but my god does Callie drive me insane.” We head out of the stadium as Sean continues, “The worst part is, this whole thing was my idea and I already know for a fact, that my daughter is going to be just as fiery as Callie…” his eyes widen and he stops walking in the middle of the lot. “Or maybe she’ll be even worse,” we both shudder in unison at the thought. Callie is scary enough, without adding an even more feisty, mini version of her to the mix.
“Jesus, that’s a scary thought.” I add, unlocking my car. Sean throws his bag into the back and clambers into the passenger seat, still silent with worry. I’d never say this out loud to him, but he should definitely be scared right now. Callie is almost full term and this baby is going to spin Sean’s head so much, he’ll be dizzy for years.
“My sugar daddy will be here in a minute,” Is the first thing I hear out of my girlfriend’s mouth as I enter my house. She doesn’t even know I'm here yet. Her and Callie are laying out even more snacks on the coffee table when she makes her comment and Callie's head shoots up in a mixture of confusion and disgust.
“Molly, what the actual fuck?”
“What?” Molly shrugs, “That’s what he is.”
“Is that right?” I interrupt, as Sean brushes past me with a laugh. He smacks a hard kiss to Callie’s jaw, before falling to his ass on the sofa, the snacks like a magnet to his outstretched hand.
Molly saunters across the living room to me, her hips swaying like a dream. “I didn’t know you were listening, but I stand by what I said, sugar daddy.” I drop my mouth to her ear, so Sean and Callie don’t hear my next words. “Drop the sugar and we’ll both be naked in nought point five-seconds.” Molly chuckles, hooking her arms around my neck and squeezing tight, dropping a kiss to each of my cheeks, then a deeper one to my lips before we part.
Callie and Sean are taking up most of the couch, so Molly and I opt for the extra large armchair. She sits herself on my lap, lifting her knees and snuggling into me, she smells so fucking good I could eat her right now. Callie is fidgeting on the sofa, Sean slinging an arm over her and hauling her close to him, her ever expanding belly getting in the way. She looks so uncomfortable now and I pray silently that she doesn’t have long left, until this baby decides to make a swift exit. Just as the thought floats through my mind, Callie sits up straight, a hand running over the lower part of her stomach.
“I feel weird,” she mutters, curls falling over her cheeks as she presses gently all over her belly.
Sean’s back is pencil straight immediately, his face pale and eyes flickering wildly over Callie’s body. “What do you need? Tell me now Callie, I'm panicking.”
With an extra sassy roll of her eyes, she bats his worried hand away. “Shut up, I'm going to the bathroom.” As soon as Callie is on her feet, striding towards the bathroom that’s located just under the huge staircase, Sean is hot on her tail.
“I don’t need help going to the bathroom Taylor,” we hear Callie yell and the next moment Sean is shoved out of the bathroom. He glances over at us with an anxious, forced smile.
He points to the bathroom door that he was just pushed out of. “She’s just going to the toilet.”
Molly and I nod in unison. “Yeah, we heard.” Molly chuckles smugly and I nudge her cheek with my nose, breathing in every single bit of her delicious smell.
How does she always smell so fucking good?
“Hey,” she whispers, lifting my chin so our eyes lock. “You know I love you right?”
I nod once, flashing her a toothy grin. “That I do.”
“And you know you’ll never get to fuck anyone else for the rest of your life too, right?”
I glance over at Sean, who couldn’t be less interested in our hushed conversation. The poor guy is still pacing outside the bathroom door, waiting for Callie to return.
“Thank god for that,” I say quietly, my mouth hovering over Molly’s ear. “Because there’s nobody else on the planet that I’d rather break with my dick than you Barbie.”
“Maybe you should break me right now, while those two are distracted.” I press my lips against her warm neck, trailing my open mouth up her collar bone to land against her bowed lips. The kiss takes her breath away and for a moment, I forget we’re not alone in the living room.
After less than a second, Callie flies out of the bathroom, curls and eyes equally wild. “Guys,” she croaks, her eyes blinking way too fast. “We may have a problem…I think the baby is coming.”
