“What?” Kyle’s eyes are wide, horror stricken even. “On the team? You’ve had sex with one of my teammates?”

I pull in my smirk, trying so damn hard not to enjoy watching his possessive claws come out. “Maybe…”

“Who?”

I shrug, sparing a glance at Nick, who’s face is guiltily buried in his hands. Kyle follows my line of vision and his face collapses with disgust, sinking his own pale expression into his palms.

“No, no, no, please no,” He groans, looking back at my teasing smile with a hurt little puppy dog look in his eyes. “Are you fucking kidding me?” Kyle turns to Nick and his tattooed hands come up in defence. “It was over a year ago man and it was only once, when we were both off our faces on shots.”

Kyle’s face washes with a light shade of green, his hand on his stomach. “I feel sick.”

“You’re being silly,” I smile, the butterflies running a rampage in my stomach when he grips my hip tightly, stopping me from leaving. “You better make it up to me, I want you naked when I come up there.” His voice is still a little wobbly whisper, giving away how hard it is for him to know that Nick has made it into my magic kingdom before he ever did. But he taps my ass with a toothy smile anyway and I throw him a wink as I swish up the stairs.

Kyle

My dick is so fucking hurt, heartbroken even, to know that Nick has fucked Molly before I got the chance to even know she existed. I slouch down beside Lewis, his empathetic eyes clashing with mine for a beat, before an infuriated groans slips out from between my lips. Nick is looking at me with apology coating his expression, lips tightly clamped as he watches the possessive fire die out inside me. I guess I can’t control who Molly had sex with before me, doesn’t mean I want to hear about it though. Sean lands next to me with a huff, the sofa sinking from his 250 pound weight as he leans his head back against the cushions.

Lewis looks across me, at Sean. “You look shattered man,”

“I am,” he murmurs and that’s when I notice the dark, sunken circles under his eyes. “Callie woke me up this morning at 6am by sucking my d—” “Let me stop you right there,” Lewis cuts him off, a palm held out to shut him up. “We don't need to know that and Callie doesn’t need us to know that.”

Sean responds with a much too casual shrug. “She doesn’t mind.” Lewis’ eyes widen. “She’s scary at the best of times and right now she's raging with hormones, so maybe just keep your mouth shut.” “You’re telling me,” Sean scoffs, shaking a hand through his curls. “She’s even hornier now she’s pregnant, I can barely keep up with her.” “That!” Lewis slaps a hand to each of his thighs and stands up, pointing a finger at Sean. “That’s exactly what I'm talking about when I say to keep your mouth shut.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” Nick pipes up from his armchair, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. “Callie is pregnant?”

“Lewis,” I groan, kicking him in the shin. “What part of ‘don’t tell Nick’ didn’t you understand?”

“Hey! Why not? Why am I kept out of the loop all the time?” Nick gets to his feet too, throwing his hands in the air and looking to Sean for an explanation.

“Because you can’t keep a fucking secret that’s why,” Sean mutters, turning to glare at Lewis. “But clearly this fucker can’t either, so you may as well all know. Me and Callie are having a baby, ok? End of story.” Nick stomps after Sean as he crosses the room. “No, not end of story, how the fuck did this happen man? Didn’t you wrap it? You know the rules.” I turn back to Lewis, guilt written all over his face as he rubs his smooth jaw anxiously. I can’t be fucked with this childlike drama, so I decide to go back upstairs to see if Molly is fulfilling her part of the deal. That deal being her spread out on my bed, naked and waiting to let me tear her apart. Sean and Nick are still bickering as I pass them, trudging up the stairs but skidding to a stop outside my bedroom door, when I hear Molly’s muffled voice.

“Yeah, I said it’s fine Mum, stop worrying about me.” She says, her voice soft and childlike. “No, I still don’t have a boyfriend,” there’s a groan rumbling under the false sing song voice she puts on now. “Ok, I love you too, bye.”

I wait a few seconds, not wanting to look like I had my ear pressed against the door, listening. When I enter the room Molly is naked like I wanted, but her mouth is pulled down into a frown and when she glances up at me, her nail comes between her teeth, nibbling.

“You ok? Who was that?” I say, sitting down next to her and running a hand up her creamy thigh.

She huffs a deep sigh and falls back against the pillows. “Just my mum, she wants to bring my sister to see me next week.”

“You don't want to see them?”

“No, I do,” she says and I raise an eyebrow, waiting for her to get to the ‘but,' “I just always feel pressure when they visit, like they want to see this version of me that I don’t know how to fake very well.”

I trace her cheek with my thumb. “Molly, they love you for you, not for a fake version of you.”

“How do you know? You’ve never met them,” she whispers, but I see the hint of a tiny smile threatening her lips.

“Who wouldn’t love you baby?” I tease and she laughs at first. But then it’s like my words actually seep into her pores and she tenses up a little, pinning me with the intensity of her stare. I panic that I’ve said the wrong thing and this is the moment she runs from me, taking my heart with her, so I quickly change the subject.

“Are you coming to the game tonight?”

She blinks once, then again, before nodding slowly. “Yep, me and Callie are coming.”

I gulp, heat crawling up the back of my neck. “You’ll wait for me after right?”

“Yeah, of course I will, I always do don’t I?” She snickers and my heartbeat calms.

I study her face for a moment, the scattering of tiny freckles that you can only see in certain lights and the curve of her perfectly bowed lips as she breathes. Everything about her is just perfection, heavenly even. When I plant a tight kiss to her lips and head for the shower, I can’t stop the galloping of my heart from dragging me even deeper into the feelings that I’m sure are going to break me soon.
