Summer

As always, the party is full-on raging when we arrive. Logan parks up front in his parking spot then comes around and opens my door. Taking my hand, he helps me down. Then he closes the door and makes a show of kissing me in front of everyone. I oblige him even though I really don't want to, but everyone is watching, so I play my role.

I hear a few whistles, but we’re soon forgotten. He hangs his hand over my shoulder again possessively as we enter.

"Hey, Sicko. Summer," Jaylen greets us. I smile and he bumps with Logan.

"Potato head."

"Bro," Jaylen responds.

"Trev and Big Head back from picking their girls?" Logan asks as we walk inside where the music is too loud. I sigh loudly because no one can hear me, and I know Logan won't be looking at me much. He will sure as shit keep me by his side all night, but he always has other people to talk to. The burden of being campus famous and having a bright future.

Kill me now.

We head to the makeshift VIP section they always have. Couches line the walls and there are various tables around and the double doors leading outside are open wide.

It isn't that cold here yet so people are outside and some are even in the pool. The pool table is probably outside again. They do that sometimes, since it takes up more space when it's inside anyway.

Familiar faces catch my eye.

Fuck.

Jaden, Caleb, Arch, and their two other friends sit with them in one of the corners.

My eyes meet with Arch's, and I look away quickly.

Fuck.

Logan and I get to our reserved sitting and Logan pulls me to his lap. I cross my legs and he places his right hand on my thigh talking to Jaylen about something and it's like he doesn't even see they are here.

My gaze darts nervously to their section, which just so happens to be right across from ours. They are busy talking amongst themselves about something and Arch is in the conversation.

Logan rubbing my thighs interrupts me. and I look down at him finding his brows furrowed.

Fuck. He saw that.

I kiss his cheek and like a robot, he goes back to his conversation. The night goes and he offers me a drink and I decline it like I always do. I have never been drunk here at these things since I dated Logan. I don't know why but I don't trust any of them to be drunk here. I don't think I'd be violated; I just don't feel like they are my people.

As the night goes on, Archer's gaze is on me a lot. I catch him watching me every time I look their way. The others also watch me, seething at Logan's hand on my bare thigh.

Logan's lips caress my neck, and I curse myself for tying my hair up. I can't help but look at Arch's direction and see his rage. Logan’s basically frenching my neck. Instead of turning me on like Logan hopes, I turn cold as I watch Arch leave.

"Are you having fun, baby?" Logan asks straight in my ear.

I want to scream no. But I force another smile and nod.

"Good, 'cause I'm having fun too." He kisses my cheek and I remain stiff in his lap.

I keep looking at my watch and after about half an hour, I can't take it anymore.

"I'm going to the bathroom." I smile at Logan after pecking him on the lips. Placating him so he lowers his guard. I need a break. I need to be alone so I can think.

"Should I come with?" he asks looking into my eyes like he is searching for something there.

"No, I can pee by myself." I kiss the side of his face and he nods. I adjust my skirt and walk upstairs to Logan's room, the only room with a bathroom. I close the door behind me, and walk to the bathroom. I stand in front of the mirror as the other door opens, and irritation sinks into me. That has to be Logan. Probably here to make out.

Kill me.
