“I don’t think so, darling, do you?” Squeezing harder than he needed to, he contorted her arm down, maneuvering it behind her back and making sure his phone got a decent view of her plight.

“Oliver, stop!” Her yell was more plaintive now, suggesting he was really hurting her. He hoped so. “Just leave.”

“Leave?” He scoffed, scanning the camera around before training the lens on her discomforted expression. “I’m not the only one who’s leaving, Becky. We’re going together. Daddy misses you.”

“What?” She slammed her other hand down against his thigh as she fought to break free, but Oliver’s grip was vice-like, despite the sudden hurt. “No way. I’m not going anywhere with you. I’m never going back.”

“Don’t worry.” His tone was patronizing as he dragged her back toward the door. He’d bind her with the ropes in his jacket pocket and wrestle her into the trunk. She’d be back with the family in no time. “I’ll take care of you.”

The sound of a key in the lock captured his attention, and fleetingly, both he, Rebecca, and the camera turned to watch it open. Standing there, key in hand, was the Vaughn moron who’d given his whore of a sister a home.

“Who the fuck are you?” Vaughn was on him in a moment, throwing a punch that would have connected with his face had Oliver not dodged the blow so efficiently. In doing so though, Oliver was forced to release Rebecca, who went scuttling away down the hall.

“Thank God you’re home, Sebastian!” She was hyperventilating as the latest Vaughn squared up to him. “It’s my brother.”

“Of course.” Sebastian sneered as he forced Oliver’s camera away. “Oliver Monroe. I should have guessed.”

“I just came to see my sister.” He kept the video running, even though all it was shooting now was Vaughn’s expensive footwear. “What of it?”

“He came to hurt me,” Rebecca screeched. “And to take me with him.”

“Get out of here.” Sebastian nodded toward the open door. “And don’t fucking come back. She doesn’t want anything to do with you or your fucking father again.”

“It doesn’t matter what she wants.” Oliver laughed as he headed for the exit. The opportunity to take Rebecca had passed, but he had no doubt there would be another. Perhaps next time he’d manage to get his hands on the other whores keeping the Vaughns’ beds warm. Taking their women would serve them all right. “She’s a Monroe, wherever she is.”

“Prick,” Sebastian muttered, forcing the door closed as Oliver crossed the threshold.

“Don’t forget,” Oliver shouted back before the door shut. “I’ll be coming for you, Rebecca, and tell all of your friends. No slut who fucks a Vaughn is safe. I’ll come for you, and maybe I’ll send the chimera!”

Spinning the lens to face him, an image of his own glee-laden face came into shot. “It’s always great to catch up with family!”

He was howling with laughter as the scrawny security guys rushed to him and man-handled him back to his vehicle.

THE VIDEO ENDED, BUT the smile was still etched onto his face. The incident might not have gone as he’d hoped, but it hadn’t been a loss. He’d terrorized Rebecca; plus he’d been able to give them both the real threat: none of them were safe.

He was sure the Vaughns knew about his chimera, trusting that Balthazar had told the others all about their meeting at the mountain lodge. That made them all a menace to Oliver, and he would take great pleasure in eliminating them. But he’d start with their women. Oliver had never had much time for relationships, but he’d seen the way Sebastian had looked at his sister. There was real concern flickering in his eyes, and that weakness would be his downfall.

He’d take Cherie, Rebecca, and whoever the youngest one was banging, and then he’d come back for Moira. He had no proof that she was with the Vaughn who’d backed her up at the bistro, but he’d have her, regardless. She’d look good on a leash tied to the end of his desk.

“Good thought.” He mused, sliding the phone back into his pocket.

He’d keep the video of his sister for prosperity. The memento would remind him of what his sister had obviously forgotten:

Nowhere was out of reach of the Monroe empire.

Little Rebecca should have known better.

Chapter Nineteen

Draco

“YOU CAN MEET MY DRAGON.” He hadn’t spilled the biggest secret of his life with the woman to hold back at the most critical juncture. Of course, he would share with her. The choice to reveal the secret at that moment hadn’t been his, but what was done was done. “But, Moira, there are bigger considerations to contend with first.”

Like, deciding how she was going to react to the two bombshell revelations he’d just thrown at her, deciding how to respond to Cole’s plea for help, and then navigating the minefield of how to keep her safe without letting his brothers down.

So much for the fun evening I had planned...

“Like what?” She straightened. “You just shared incredibly personal things with me, Draco. Things I didn’t think were possible. Don’t you think we need to address those issues?” Her breaths were coming so fast he was worried she might hyperventilate.
