“There you two are. Have you spoken to Lola about the plan?”

The moment shattered, I turned in Ash’s arms to see Phoenix coming our way.

“Not yet.”

My brow knit as I looked from one man to the other. “What plan?”

“Let’s chat in my room.” Taking my hand, Ash led me down the hallway and into a room just a few doors down from Gabriella’s, with Phoenix trailing behind, closing the door behind us. The room was much larger than his room at the cabin and had a little more personality. You could tell he spent a considerable amount of time here by the amount of personal items scattered around, whereas the room at the cabin reminded me more of a hotel room.

“Do you have a real home?” I asked scanning the room. The room featured a large king-size bed with a basic wooden railed head and footboard. There was a six-drawer dresser to the far end and upon the flick of a switch the overhead light lit the room with a warm glow while the fan began to slowly spin.

“Yeah, I’ve just been busy with club stuff,” Ash answered, grabbing the hem of his t-shirt and pulling it up over his head as he made his way to the dresser.

“How’s your cheek feeling?” Phoenix placed an arm around my shoulders and gently spun me to face him. “Do you want me to take another peek at it?”

Smiling, I shook my head, the warm tingling I’d been feeling for Ash moments ago reigniting for the second man as I stepped forward and into Phoenix’s arms. “What did you need to talk to me about?” I murmured holding tight to him. There wasn’t much he could ask or tell me that would faze me at this moment. I was all surprised out.
