“Whatever, brother. If it gets settles in your head then, fuck it, let’s do it. I’ll call Talon in the morning and have him send Cisco to watch her tomorrow so we can run around on this wild goose chase of yours.”

“Ash…” I murmured as I slowly opened my eyes to discover it had all been a dream. What a sweet dream it had been though. Instead of Ash ending my spanking punishment when Phoenix had come in, he’d continued until I was so wet the moisture was seeping through the cotton of the boxers I was wearing while Phoenix watched. Phoenix would then join us; he’d pulled down my boxers and buried his head between my legs while Ash watched this time…
That’s when I woke up.
“Dammit,” I groaned grabbing the pillow and burying my face into it, begging for sleep to take me away again. But it didn’t.
The sun was up and shining brightly though the little window, forcing me to wake fully and start the day of being bored in this room. At least when the guys came to drop off food it broke the day up for me.
Maybe when they come to drop off my breakfast I’ll ask for a book. That wasn’t too much to ask was it?
Hearing the heavy footsteps coming down the hallway I smiled as I attempted to fix my hair by running my fingers through my snarled locks. Wouldn’t hurt to look at least a little presentable.
The door opened and words of greeting caught in my throat as a large, burly bald man, who I’d guess to be in his mid-forties came in with a tray of food in his hands and a scowl on his face. He didn’t bring the tray to me, but simply dropped it to the floor next to my bed. The bowl contained oatmeal, a portion of it spilling over the side and onto the tray.
“Ooops,” he growled. “Guess it slipped.”
I didn’t reply, just stared up at him. This man scared me to the core. I shivered involuntarily pulling my knees up to my chest as I stared at him. He was wearing the black leather vest with Sergeant in Arms, along with his name Cisco on it.
“Not so cocky now are you? Funny how things change?”
Frowning, I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out. What in the hell was I supposed to say?
He removed his vest and tossed it onto the bed at my feet. Next came the black t-shirt, leaving him bare-chested in front of me. His chest was hairy, like teddy-bear hairy with a mix of black and gray hair.
Not sure what his intentions were, I inched my way back on the bed until the wall was against my back. Maybe I could make a run for it. He looked rather out of shape; I might be able to outrun him if I tried. I would certainly have dexterity and age on my side.
“Bet you didn’t think you’d ever see me again, Gabriella.”
“I… Cisco…”
He snorted. “Yeah. That’s right.” He pointed to his left shoulder. “You almost got me. An inch lower and I wouldn’t be standing here today. My wife would be a widow and kids without a father. You owe me, bitch. If it wasn’t for the fact we need to trade you for Lily’s freedom I’d strangle the life out of you right here and now. I’d highly suggest you not give me a reason to lose my temper.”
“I’m sorry. I won’t.” My gaze shifted to his massive, ogre-sized hands. They could easily choke the life out of me and I’d be helpless to stop him.
“Good.” Grabbing his t-shirt he pulled it back over his head and then slipped the vest back on over it. “Anything you have to say, or need before I go?”
He started to turn to leave when I decided to ask the question that had been on my mind all evening last night. I needed answers to the puzzle that was my situation. “How did Ash and Phoenix know to go to the truck stop for me? I was stranded on the side of the road. No one had any way of knowing I would be there.”
“Come on, Gabriella. We know.”
I frowned. “Know what?”
“You’ve been there the same time every week for the past couple months. You were spotted and tracked. We know it all. We even know who your little boy toy is. That’s right, we know you’re fucking around behind Raven’s back.” He gave me a smirk. “Murderer. Drug dealer. Whore. You really are a class act.”
Cringing, I lowered my gaze as I digested the information.
Wrong place, wrong time. Definitely the story of my life. Maybe it was the stress. Maybe it was the irony of my situation, but I began to laugh. The laughter was hollow to my ears, but it was either laugh or cry.
A look of disgust flashed in his eyes as he shook his head at me and muttered, “Psycho bitch.” Turning, he left the room, slamming the door and locking it behind him.
Tears were in my eyes by the time I finished my laughing spell. Fuck, didn’t take me long to start going crazy. Batting the tears away from my eyes, I then wiped my tear coated hands on my t-shirt and sighed. Uncurling myself from the fetal position, I slid from the bed and used the bathroom before grabbing the tray from the floor and placing it on the bed. There was still some oatmeal left and the orange juice was in a sealed plastic bottle so none of that spilt, to my relief.
Once done my breakfast, I placed the tray beside the door and went back to my bed, closing my eyes. Why hadn’t Ash and Phoenix been here this morning? The moment my eyes closed, images of Ash and Phoenix filled my mind and the things I’d like to do with them, if things were different.
If only…
