Page 11 of Love's Hot

There is no more talking. He places his hand on my lower back and guides me to the door of the club, raising his hand to signal a cab. One is pulling up in front of us; Kane lowers me in, and I scoot across for him to follow. He said his hotel is around the corner so I’m guessing he didn’t want to make me walk.

“You’ll need your energy, plus those heels are a death trap. Hot as hell, but definitely a death trap.” It’s like he’s reading my mind.

“You’d be surprised what I can do in these heels. I never leave home without them.” I hear a little groan escape him.

“The images I have of what you can do in those heels is not G-rated, I can assure you.”

“They’re my weakness. I have more shoes than you can imagine. If you’re lucky and a good boy, maybe one day you might get to see them all.” He places his hand on my chin and turns me to face him.

“No part of me is a good boy. If that’s what you’re looking for then we need to take you to your hotel now. Somehow, though, I don’t take you to be a good girl in any stretch of the imagination.” His thumb trails softly across my bottom lip which has dropped at his words and touch.

“Guess you’ll find out,” I whisper.

We sit in silence for the rest of the short trip in the cab. My heart beats harder than it has in a long time. Sweaty palms, tingling sensations on my skin, all of which is freaking me out. I’ve had one-night stands with guys before, which are hot and leave you feeling on a high. I’ve never felt like this before sex, though.

There is something about Kane that is different.

His different is going to be my dangerous.

I can feel that already.

I glance out the window at all the people out on a Friday night. Trying to center my brain, I start to play the game with myself picturing where they’re off to or have been. Dinner, show, dancing, partying or just heading home from a long day at work. Meanwhile, here I am in the back of a cab on the way to a hotel for the sole purpose of having hot sex with a guy I hardly know. What would people be thinking about me if they could see me, in my red dress and fuck-me heels. Isn’t that what I want, for people to see me, notice me in a room? To see Lilly standing out waiting for people to notice her?

“Are you cold, you’re shivering?” Kane’s deep voice breaks my thoughts.

I lie. “Yes, a little.” The shivers have nothing to do with feeling chilly.

He shrugs out of his jacket and places it around my shoulders as we pull up in front of his hotel. It’s not a huge, glitzy one. Just nestled in between the other buildings on the street. It looked like an old soul that has stood the test of time as the new buildings have gone up around it. My brother Zach would love the way it has been restored and maintained to keep the character of the years gone by. We walk into the foyer with Kane still holding my hand and guiding me to the elevators which are at the back of the building.

Watching the down arrow on the elevator blinking at me, it seems to take forever to reach the bottom. Being an old building, maybe the elevator system struggles. We wait as the two couples exit and we both say good evening and enter the empty elevator. The doors start to close, and I feel the electricity rise in the small space. Kane leans forward to push the button for the fifteenth floor. My mind is confused.

“There is no way there are fifteen floors in this little old building.” I turn to him and see the smirk on his face.

“Not everything you see from the outside is always as it seems, Lilly. Sometimes you’re surprised at what you find.” As the elevator dings, he places his hand on my lower back and guides me out and down the corridor to his room. Swiping his card in the door, the lock disengages and he opens up, motioning for me to enter before him. Stepping through this door suddenly feels like a really big step. I’m not sure why but something is making me hesitate. I stare at the open passageway, pull up my big girl pants – well, I would if I were wearing any – and turn to Kane.

“No attachment or awkwardness tomorrow. Deal?”

Slowly he lowers to my ear and whispers with his breath sending shivers all through my body. “Fucking for fun and not relationships. Remember? So yes, deal.” His tongue runs up my ear as he takes the lobe in his mouth and bites softly on it. “Now move your hot ass inside unless you want me to take you out here in the hallway for all to see. Is that what turns you on?” I scurry past him into the room. That voice, it gets me every time. I’m glad he doesn’t use it all the time, otherwise I could never be around him. It makes me a mushy mess just with a few words.

“Nothing like I imagined from the front of the building.” I stand, taking in a room that is so modern yet classy. Matching in with the classic lines of the front of the building, which is built of brown brick, and highlighted with cream features.

Kane’s room is different tones of brown and cream and has a strong warm feeling to it. The walls are blends of straight wall and textured stone that bring the new and the old together. Dark timber headboard with a bed full of plush cushions in browns. Complimenting the brown coverlet at the end of the bed over top of the pale brown spread. Warm in a way that makes you feel at home.

The view catches my eyes straight away. Magnificent floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the skyline of the city lights. It’s spectacular. Not at all what I was expecting when I entered the building.

“Can I get you a drink to relax you a little, Red?” He opens the mini bar to survey the contents. “Champagne or something a little stronger?” I want to say the strongest you have but need to show him that I’m totally in control of the situation, regardless of the feeling of apprehension in my stomach.

“Champagne is perfect, thank you. I’m already nice and relaxed so that will be more than enough to enjoy the evening.” Taking the glass from Kane, I cheers to the bottle of beer he’s cracked open. Knowing I won’t be able to keep still if I sit, I wander to the window to take in the view. I’ve never been afraid of heights. Standing so close to the edge of the room actually excites me. You can say I’m a bit of a thrill seeker at times. I like to get the adrenaline pumping.

“Wow, the view is impressive from here. The lights, the sleek lines and curves of the buildings against the night sky. I could stand and look at it for hours.” I hear his footsteps moving on the carpet.

“I could look at this view all night too.” I feel how close he is behind me. “Beauty against the night sky. Curves that look so inviting.” My breath hitches as his finger runs down my arm, taking my glass from me and placing it on the counter to his side. “You need to tell me this is what you want, Red, I need to hear you say it. Tell me you want me to fuck you.” This time it’s me that moans as he slowly slides his hands up both sides of my hips and back down my thighs. My knees weaken beneath me. I don’t want to think anymore, I just want him to do what he promised.

“Fuck me, Kane. Hard.”

His crotch pushes into my ass. “Oh, it’s hard, there are no worries about that. Your dress made sure of that, Red.” His lips start with kissing my shoulder and working his way up my neck. Pushing my hair to the side to give him full access to continue his assault. Until he reaches that spot right behind my ear. The one that sends a woman crazy.

He turns my head to the side and his lips are on mine. There’s no softness behind the kiss. He’s claiming me just like he promised in the bar. His tongue sweeps over my lips, probing to be let in. Not asking, demanding my tongue and controlling the kiss.
