I help Ben up, pulling him into my arms and kissing him gently before we head to the bathroom.
Ben is exactly the type of boy I would want in my life full-time. But any man deserves better than what I have to offer. That’s why I don’t have a boyfriend. I’ll just have to soak up the couple of days I have with Ben.
CHAPTER THREE
BEN
ALMOST THREE MONTHS LATER
The school year has officially started, and things are already crazy intense.
Hockey season starts in about a month, but pre-season practice is already well underway. I’m also working with a coaching team to better my abilities as a goalie.
I’ve worked on getting stronger all summer, except for the one week I took off to relax in paradise. I’ll never forget Ian or the two days we spent together. But now, my focus is solely on hockey and my grades, which is why I told Ian I didn’t want to exchange information. But if I’m being honest with myself, I’ve regretted that decision ever since. I have the ability to focus on my grades, play killer hockey, and get railed by the hottest Daddy ever.
Hockey has always been a sport that comes easy, and I bet I’d still be a good player even if I slacked off, but that isn’t the type of person I am. When I join something, I put my all into it. I don’t half-ass anything. So, even though I have no desire to play hockey professionally, I’m determined to give it my all while I play at the college level.
The Green Spring Koalas hockey team has won the championship for the last two years, and I’m determined to secure a third win before I’m no longer eligible to play. Even if it were possible to play next year, my focus would still need to be on schooling since I enter med school then.
Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. When I discovered a way to mix that with my love for all sports, I was sold on going into sports medicine. It’s a long fucking process, but I know I’m capable.
Some people call me crazy for not wanting to pursue hockey professionally, but it was never my dream. I enjoy playing, and while I’m in college, I’ll play my heart out, but when it’s over, I won’t be sad to give it up.
“Have you seen the hot new professor?” one of my new roommates, Nick Bronson, or Bronny for short, asks when he gets home.
Bronny is gay, so he’s obviously not talking about a female teacher. He’s a freshman and a wrestler but an overall cool guy.
I shake my head. “What course is he teaching?” I inquire.
“First-year writing,” Bronny responds.
“Yeah, I took that my first year, so I doubt I’ll meet him.” I stare at him for a moment and cock my head to the side. “Wait, how hot are we talking?”
My roommate blushes and shrugs. “Hotter than any teacher I’ve ever seen.”
“Damn. Think you can sneak me a pic?” I ask with a smirk.
He shakes his head. “I don’t want to get in shit.”
I pat him on the shoulder in understanding. It’s tough being a freshman.
“It’s all good. Maybe I’ll pick you up from class next week and sneak in the back once the class gets let out. If a teacher is that hot, I’ve got to see him for myself. What time does your class end?”
Bronny chuckles. “Sounds like a solid plan. It’s my class just before lunch. It ends around eleven forty-five,” he tells me.
“Excellent. I don’t have any morning classes this semester, so I’ll be able to swing that no problem.”
“Cool, did you want to hit the gym in a little bit?” he asks.
“Sure. I had to skip my workout this morning. I could use at least an hour in the gym,” I explain.
“Yeah. I’m not looking forward to getting up at the ass crack of dawn to work out once the wrestling season starts,” Bronny grumbles. “But if I don’t do the work and take it to the next level, I’m not going to impress anyone. I kind of made a name for myself in high school wrestling and want to keep that up at the college level.”
“I understand, man. Being a freshman sucks, but you’ll get the hang of it eventually,” I encourage him.
“Can someone please explain why everyone is talking about first-year writing like it’s the best thing since sliced bread?” Rio, my other new roommate, asks, walking through the door.
“Rumor on the street is there is a hot new professor,” I tell Rio, and Bronny dips his chin.
