I smooth down my curls and Diesel cracks, “I was talking to Axe.”
I glance at Axel, and I suppose he does look like he’s stuck his head in a salad spinner. His glasses are slightly crooked, too, and somehow all it does is make him look hotter than ever. I let go of his hand to comb through his locks with my fingers, taming them a bit. I straighten his glasses before dropping a kiss onto his gorgeous lips.
“Do you want to tell them or do you want me to?” Axel takes my wrist, giving me a reassuring squeeze.
For the millionth time since we’ve started dating, I find myself thinking: What is my life?
I clear my throat. I can’t do it if I can’t even say it, can I?
And I want it badly, so I blurt out, “I’ve been thinking about having sex with all three of you. Tonight. At the same time.”
Diesel and Cruz’s eyes both go real wide for a split second before they get their expressions under control.
Axel squeezes my waist.
“Shit, babe. Don’t make proclamations like that around an open flame,” Cruz says with a laugh. “I might pass out and fall into the campfire.”
“Did Axel dare you to tell us to mess with us?” Diesel says.
“This isn’t a dare. I’m not messing with you,” I tell them. “It’s something I really want.
“Seriously,” Cruz says again. “I might pass out and fall into the fire.”
“I mean,” I twist my hands together. “If you are both… into the idea, that is.”
“We’re into the idea,” Diesel and Cruz say together, without another beat.
Chapter 34
Winnie
The campfire might be dimming, but the fire that burns in all three of my triplets’ eyes is enough to keep me warm all night. I grin at their enthusiastic response to my desires.
Still, I’m nervous. And I know why…
Chewing my lip, I look at Diesel. “First, um… Diesel… Can I talk to you for a minute?”
I gesture back in the direction of the trees where Axel and I had just been.
“Why, yes, Miss Wainwright,” Diesel rakes a hand through his hair, “I’ll gladly let you pull me behind a tree any day of the week.”
He lopes over and I pull myself away from Axel to take Diesel’s hand. I give Axel a smile. He responds with a wink.
Poor Cruz pouts again as he watches us walk away.
But I blow him a kiss and call out, “Don’t worry. You’ll get plenty of my time tonight, Cruzie.”
My promise gets me a genuine grin, complete with dimples.
Once we’re around the tree, I back Diesel up against it and stand in front of him, shifting from foot to foot.
“I need to clear the air with you,” I say. “When you told me you were in love with me–”
“Shit, Win.” He winces. “Can we pretend that didn’t happen? It was the first time I’ve ever told a woman I’m in love with her, and I obviously did it wrong, and… fuck a duck, I probably just made it worse, maybe.”
What’s that feeling in my chest? My heart growing bigger? Seeing such a big, strong, tatted man being so sweetly vulnerable and awkward makes me swoooooooooooon.
“I’ve never been in love with anyone else, though, Peach,” he clarifies, and his blue eyes are an ocean of sincerity. “It’s only ever been you.”
