I snicker. “Just wanted to have a friendly chat, gentleman.” I raise both of my hands as I approach them. “No need for all of that.”
“I don’t think you’re in a position to make demands,” the other one said. No accents. Interesting. I doubt these guys are high up. This brings me to my next question: why are only two guys like this guarding this much heroin? From what I saw on camera, there’s at least a million dollars worth of product in there. And if you have that much in heroin, why do you need a bunch of weed?
“You sure about that?” I smirk as I sense the guys come up behind me. Judging by the looks on the two dipshits’ faces, they know they’re fucked if something goes down, and by doing that, they have no clue that they just confirmed it’s only them here.
“What is this?” the turtleneck asks. “Are you double-crossing the Pakhan?” His tone has taken a dark edge as he looks at Storm.
“They fucking know it all, man,” Storm cries before spilling his guts. “I tried to take over shit at Evan’s like he wanted, and they were there waiting for me. I didn’t stand a chance. Tell him I didn’t stand a chance.” Storm is full-on trembling now as he pleads with Cyrus to bail him out.
What a little bitch.
I knew he would crack under the smallest amount of pressure.
The turtleneck lets out a deep laugh. “Begging won’t help you here. You’re a means to an end.”
“What does that mean?” I growl. That bad feeling I felt when we arrived has permanently settled in my throat.
“It means that we’re handling what Storm couldn’t.”
I’m on him before he can even register what’s happening. My brothers behind me come up quickly, guns drawn, yelling at the other guy to drop his weapon that’s currently pointed right at my head.
Turtleneck drops his gun as soon as my hand wraps around his throat, slowly cutting off his air supply. “If he so much as touches a hair on Evan’s head, he’s going to wish I put a bullet between his fucking eyes.” I hiss out as he gasps for air.
“You have five seconds to take your fucking hand off of him.” The guy beside him yells, gun aimed right at me.
“I don’t think you’re in a position to make demands,” Hash mocks, earning a chorus of snorts. I don’t need to take my eyes off of turtleneck to know that every single one of my brothers has a gun aimed at both of them.
“You have five seconds to start telling me what the fuck is going on,” I taunt as I squeeze a little harder in that sweet spot that’s just below the jawline and right by the ear. I’ve completely cut off his air supply, and his buddy knows it.
He holds one hand up while lowering the other to the ground after realizing he’s outnumbered. “Mikhail wants it all to himself. He’s just taking out whoever is in his way.” He nods his head to the guy whose throat is seconds away from being crushed with my hand. “Now let him go.”
“Wants what?”
“The territory. He’s had his eye on Evan for a while. Knew Storm would be an easy in. Once he realized you all knew each other, he decided to take out two birds with one stone.”
“Why did he kill two of our men and take our shit? You obviously don’t fucking need it.”
“He just wanted to send you a message. Just like the one he’s sending now.”
I swear my heart just stopped fucking beating. “Call Levi.” I don’t even care who does it. Seconds have gone by since I gave that order, but it feels like ten years. My stomach is in my throat at the thought of anything happening to her.
“He’s not answering.”
“Keep trying,” I growl. It’s taking everything in me not to crush this guy's throat right now. Information first. Fuck this bitch up after.
“Where is she?” I yell while shaking the guy by his throat, making him make a few gurgling noises as he tries to take the smallest breath.
“He’s taking her to Storm’s!” his buddy yells just as his partner's face turns blue.
“You’re coming with us,” I grit out through clenched teeth as I shove turtleneck's body toward Hash, his gasps for air coming in short and fast. “Tie them up and throw them in the back. Tie that fuck face up too.” I nod my head toward Storm.
“You better fucking hope she’s untouched when I find her, or you’re going to beg me to put you out of your misery.”
Don’t worry, little hellcat, I’m coming. I’ll burn the world down if I have to.
