“Am I okay with it? I get to see my wife at work everyday, live together in the same city, and not have to miss you when I’m out of town on away games? Yeah, you could say I’m more than okay with it.”
I’m imagining our future begin to form right before me, and it’s everything I’ve ever wanted. I kiss his cheek, then his lips, where our mouths linger for a beat.
He sets me down with a pat on my ass, guiding me toward the front door with my hand in his.
“As much as I’d like to fuck you right now, we need to go tell my mom that we’re husband and wife.”
I’ve never even met his mom before, and now, I’m her daughter-in-law. My stomach churns with worry at the thought, but then I tell myself that if she’s the person responsible for raising the man I love, she’s more than likely just as amazing.
Chapter Forty-Four
Ryker
One thing that will never get old is seeing Camille dismount my bike, take her helmet off, and allow her long hair to blow in the wind as she shakes it out. Her hair is still chocolate brown because there hasn’t been time for her to get it dyed back, but I don’t care what color her hair is, so long as she’s happy with it.
She’s the sexiest woman in the world either way, and she’s all mine.
“What are we doing at the tattoo shop?” Camille asks, her head tilted in confusion.
I take my own helmet off, dismount, and store them away before answering her. “I have an idea, but if you don’t like it, be honest,” I tell her, looking down into her eyes.
She peers up at me, curiosity in her gaze. “Okay, what is it?”
“You don’t have to do it with me, but I’d like to get your initials tattooed on the inside of my ring finger instead of wearing an actual ring. I’ll get you a ring because I want everyone to know you’re taken, forever,” I grumble the last part, my possessive side bearing its ugly head.
Camille’s plush pink lips part, then lift into her bright smile. “Ryker, that’s so sweet. I love that, so long as you’re sure about it.”
“More than I’ve ever been about a tattoo, except for the crown. That also ranks up there.” I grin, loving the way she blushes as I say it.
“I want the same on mine. While I would like a ring one day, I’d love to have your initials on me.”
God, I love this girl so fucking much.
“Then let’s go.” I grab her hand in mine and lead us through the back door. The shop’s closed on Sundays, which means we have it to ourselves.
It only takes about an hour in total, and when we put our ring fingers next to one another, mine has CL on it and hers has RL.
Camille admires our fingers until I wrap them both to keep them clean. “I love it.”
“You ready?” I ask her, referring to meeting my mom.
“I’m nervous, but excited to meet the person who raised the man I love,” she admits, wrapping her arms around my neck as she steps into me.
I lean down and take her lips in a sweet kiss. “She’s going to love you, just like I do.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever thanked you,” Camille says when I pull back.
“For what?” I inquire while my arms wrap around her waist.
“For loving me the way you do. It makes me feel safe, cherished, and whole. I can be myself with you and know you’ll always love me for me, not for what I can do for you. Most of all, thank you for allowing me to love you because it’s been the greatest thing I’ve experienced yet.” Her eyes mist with tears, and I don’t hold back the same emotions that are flooding me as my own eyes dampen.
I answer her with a searing kiss, letting my love for her be felt with the way my mouth moves with hers. Moments later, we pull back, both panting and needy for each other.
“And we’re just at the beginning, with forever to go,” I rasp, undoing the button of her jeans while pulling on the zipper.
Camille mumbles incoherently, her eyes glazed with desire as she does the same to my pants, yanking my jeans down and freeing my hard cock. I do the same with her jeans and panties, discarding them on the ground.
Camille inclines her head toward the leather chair in the middle of the room. “Sit.”
