Sadness washed over Justice’s face momentarily. “Why didn’t he say something about it?”
“Because there was no way that you should have known her. He thought it was a fluke.” I kissed her cheeks and she smiled.
Cries came from the adjourning room and Justice groaned. I smacked her ass playfully and then kissed her lips.
“I’ve got them.”
I pulled on my sweats and headed into the nursey smiling proudly. Four cribs lined the walls. Augustin, Sander, Phillippe, and Odyssey were all very healthy. The mating fever that threatened their life and their mothers was long gone. Thanks to Sandy I had three healthy baby boys and a daughter whose hair was just as reddish brown as her mothers.
I picked up the crying Odyssey and held her close. Her cries died down quickly as I rocked her.
“She’s going to be a daddy’s girl.” Justice leaned on the doorway watching me bond with my baby girl.
“And Augustin is already a momma’s boy,” I retorted.
Justice walked over and caressed the face of her youngest child. Augustin already had her wrapped around his finger. She leaned down and kissed his face before moving on to Phillippe and Sander.
“I love all my babies,” Justice said sweetly. I knew she did. The way she hovered over them gave little doubt about how much she loved them.
“Hey, what about their papa?” I asked.
“Well,” she walked over and wrapped her arms around me. “I love him the most. Without him, there would be no babies to adore.”
I chuffed. “Mhm … damn right.”
Justice smiled at me and the world became that much sweeter.
