“Thank you, Mama, Angel. The name suits you perfectly,” I said softly.
She gave me a warm smile.
“I don't know why my son has been saying all sorts of things about you. You're a sweetheart,” she said putting the ladle back into the pot and covering it up with the massive lid.
I smiled innocently at her while Reaper snorted.
“You eat as much as you want,” she said patting my hand before returning to her seat.
And I did.
???
“I’m begging you, please,” I whined to Reaper.
“I am not carrying you up the stairs. Now move your ass. I have shit to get done.”
He was so pissy. I slowly took one step at a time while rubbing my food baby. My stomach was bulging, but I had no regrets. I paused and looked at the stairs. It had only been four steps I'd managed to get up.
“Oh for fuck’s sake,” Reaper said before scooping me up in his arms.
I sighed in relief as he walked up the stairs while I held onto his cut.
“Thank you,” I said looking at his scruffy beard.
He grunted but didn't say anything. When he to to his door he slid me down his body but he kept his arm around my waist. He was kind of sweet when he wanted to be.
He shoved me into the apartment.
“Try not to eat my furniture before I get back,” he said before slamming the door shut and locking it again.
Asshole.
Chapter 7
Reaper
It had been a relief to get to ride. We all felt restricted by the lockdown. After going to the barbers I called for Church. There had been no contact from her family at all. They were either gathering up their members or weren't bothered we had taken Katiana. My gut instinct was they were gathering more men.
“If one more person mentions my haircut, I get to punch you in the face,” I said, glaring at everyone.
“I’d take the hit,” Animal said.
“That’s because you like it since you got head butted by Kat,” Widower said with a chuckle.
I smiled at him, shortening her name. It suited her. A fierce little kitten.
“Rage any problems in the garage?” I asked.
“None. It's been business as usual.”
“Hmm. It's best to stay armed and keep the extra men there. How's the Prospect been?”
“A little slow on the uptake but getting there.”
“Good. We still keep the security tight. Animal, keep your eyes on the cameras, and we search everyone who comes on Friday. No exceptions.”
He sat up and nodded.
