Exactly what happened with Philit was happening again. My eyes bugged out as the long colorful spines that lined his back wrapped around my legs and hips, locking me in place.
I gasped, pure pleasure shooting through me, all my nerve endings tingling as something slammed inside of me, stretching me. Slight pain quickly turned into more pleasure, my lower stomach tightening as my body gripped onto whatever came inside of me, bursts of heat and ice rolling through my body as an absolute flood of wet pooled between my thighs. I groaned, gripping onto the spine in front of me as my vision flashed with white as the spine inside of me began to thrust and throb.
I came then and there, impaled by Zilon. Zilon roared out as he dove down toward the ground where the Fae were waiting. More roars answered him as two dragons off in the distance shot into the air, flying toward us fast.
Zilon opened his mouth, his whole body trembling. If I hadn’t been trapped in by his spines, I would have been knocked off with how hard his chest rumbled. Heat spread through him, into me and I bit back a moan. Then fire spewed out of him, slamming into the air where the Fae had been. They were scattering, running away.
Zilon blew out more fire, melting all the snow and scorching the rocks. A few Fae got caught up in it and instantly disintegrated into almost nothing. Holy shit! Remind me never to be on the other side of that. Even my face felt the heat as Zilon flew through the chaos he created, rising back into the air.
The red and blue dragons burst through the trees, soaring right to us as Zilon circled around. I kept looking down for more Fae but it seemed like they all disappeared.
There was a low humming sound as Philit’s dragon came over, his blue scales practically lighting up from the sun. His hurt became my hurt and I bit back a cry. He felt devastated and furious.
“I thought you didn’t want me,” I spat, staring him down. He had rejected me, and I had rejected him, the dragon I had chosen taking his place.
I didn’t want to be smug, but sitting here, atop Zilon felt right. It felt perfect.
‘I didn’t…’ Philit cut himself off as he shot down to the ground, leaving Zilon and I in the air, Landers looking at us in shock.
And me, staring after Philit.
I could still hear him. I couldn’t hear Landers so it wasn’t some rider to dragon thing, it was something for dragons and their riders. There mated riders.
I could still hear Philit.
‘Zilon!’ I screamed in my mind, confusion and panic rattling through my back, tightening the muscles. ‘Zilon, can you hear me?’
‘Rayna,’ Zilon’s voice filled my mind. ‘Why can I? How am I?’
He didn’t say more than that, but he didn’t have to. I didn’t have the answer for him anyway. First of all being, how the hell was I mated to two dragons?
That wasn’t supposed to be possible. Wasn’t it?
Chapter Twenty-Four
As soon as Zilon was on the ground, Philit was yanking me off his back, the blue dragon’s grip strong enough to hurt.
“How did that happen?” Landers bellowed out, marching toward Zilon as his dragon howled and shifted back into his human form. I slid from his back and into Philit’s arms. Zilon didn’t look angry so much as amused.
“How the hell was she able to ride you?” Philit asked in a low voice, sending warnings through me. The blaze of his fury burned hot inside of me, but it wasn’t the only emotion. The confused, pleased emotions were stronger, and made no sense against the violent anger.
“You think I know?” Zilon bellowed, his naked chest gleaming with sweat. All of him was naked, actually. “I saved her from the Fae. You rejected her, maybe she chose another dragon. Maybe she–”
Philit pushed me away from him, my feet stumbling as I heard the flesh on flesh smack of a punch. I turned, Zilon was staggering back, and Philit was pulling back for another. The fury was still there, but now the confusion had turned to pain.
Holy fuck! I was sensing Zilon’s emotions as well. Zilon’s were almost muted, they felt like wind moving through me, while Philit’s felt like a battering ram. I could hear them both, and now I could feel them both. This wasn’t going to get confusing at all.
“Stop!” I grabbed Philit, pulling him back with all the effect of someone trying to move a boulder.
“Leave it, Rayna. He has violated you. I cannot let him live!” Fucking hell! He sure was pissed off for someone who hated me, and hated our match.
“Landers!” I shouted, still trying to keep Philit from Zilon, and now Zilon from Philit as the green dragon was now throwing his own punches. “A little help here?”
“No, darling, this love triangle is yours to clean up. Although if a ménage à trois comes into play let me know.” Landers was just leaning against a tree, watching all of this go down as he winked at me. Fucking winked.
He was lucky I was busy trying to keep Philit and Zilon from pummeling each other.
Well, at least Landers wasn’t pissed at me anymore, I guess?
