I bit down a curse as I got closer.

“I’m gonna come,” I warned, so she could drop her hands, but that only made her move faster.

Even as she orgasmed around my fingers, she didn’t pause in pleasuring me.

I came with a jerk and grunted between pants.

“Fuck me.” I muttered against the top of her head.

Her breathing slowed, and she tilted her head back to look at me. She said nothing, but the look in her eyes held more than just bliss from a much-needed release. No, there was more.

I just didn’t know what.

I couldn’t ask.

This could only be what it was. Two consenting adults making each other feel good.

My heart couldn’t get involved.

But it might be too late.

CHAPTER 16

Javier

With the signal jammer in place, a fun piece of magic that worked better than anything humans could create, Marco and I entered Dias’ estate just after one a.m. loaded down with undetectable cameras and mics.

Emilia confirmed he had staff in the house, but without knowing exactly how many or where they’d be, we had to resort to a more aggressive gas potion than normal. Everyone within the three-hundred-yard radius would pass out but wake up. Eventually. Confused, but well rested. If our intel was correct, Dias wouldn’t be around to notice. He took his helicopter to Cuba for a meeting four days ago and wasn’t expected back until tomorrow.

“It worked,” Marco confirmed with a nod toward a man passed out on the lawn. Dressed in black slacks and a matching shirt, he must have been security.

Good. The less we touched, the less suspicion we’d raise. I didn’t want to have to fight or incapacitate anyone. They shouldn’t know anyone was ever here.

“Cover the exterior. I’ll work on the interior exits, and we’ll meet in the center,” I said.

Marco nodded at my order before trotting off with his bag of toys.

The front door was locked, but it only took me a few seconds with my tools to get it open. Immediately, I spotted the security system panel and three cameras in the corners of the ceiling.

No point in reinventing the wheel. I placed our cameras next to theirs and pressed the power button, turning them invisible.

This mansion was ridiculous. Gaudy and made to look like a Tuscan villa with too many rooms. I needed to hurry if we were going to finish in under an hour.

Then again, maybe if Dias got an alert something was happening at his house, he’d get his ass back to Miami. Not only was his little vacation putting our mission at a complete standstill, it was driving Emilia crazy.

Maybe not crazy. She hasn’t lost it, yet, but she was past the point of being annoyed and taking it out on us in the training room.

If it wasn’t for our quick healing, the four of us would be walking around with bruises, sprains, and scrapes from those damned claws. She was beginning to think his disappearance had something to do with her. That he wasn’t as interested as we thought, or after spending real time with her, he realized he didn’t like her.

It was bullshit.

But getting her to believe that was one of the most challenging things I’d ever attempted and failed. I tried to convince her he had something bigger at play, probably business. I even asked Rod to put a team on it, but he was two steps ahead. A dedicated group was digging into his empire, and Rod reminded me, not too kindly, to focus on my own team and assignment.

I understood her insecurity. She was used to quick and clean missions that always had the same result. There were no gray zones or emotions. None of them reflected on her as a person.

Until now.

But Dias was an unpredictable, complicated human. None of us could control too much of his life without notice.
