However, I wasn’t done. “How can you say that? If I had listened to you, I wouldn’t have wrecked, and you wouldn’t have been sent home.” I wipe the tears from my eyes.

She tugs her clothes on. “What have we always said? Would of, could of, should of don’t belong in our lives. If you had listened to me, then you might not have met four great guys or Nick. You might not have a relationship with your mom.” She hugs me. “I love you. Now, let’s get out of here before one of the guys comes looking for us.”

We walk out, and Cin flops onto the hospital bed.

Nick and Mav lounge on the couch, so I sit on Dom’s lap on the loveseat. “What did we miss?”

He shrugs. “Nothing.”

I lay my head on his shoulder and kiss his neck. “Thank you for coming with me.”

He nods.

Uncle Brett comes into the room with a cup of coffee. He must have gone down to the cafeteria. “Feel better now that you got a shower?”

“Much.” Cin smiles at him. “Are you going to go?”

“Where am I going?” he questions.

“You want to go to your shop,” she says. “It’s a Saturday, and you haven’t been there all day.”

He rubs the back of his neck. “Is it that obvious?”

“Just a bit.” She uses her thumb and pointer finger to measure the space.

Looking a little guilty, Uncle Brett turns to me. “Shelby, since my daughter’s kicking me out, will I see you tomorrow?”

“Yep. Dom got us a hotel near here.”

Uncle Brett ruffles my hair. “It’s good seeing you. Don’t stay away so long this time.” He turns to the guys. “Thank you for your help today. It was nice to meet you all.”

Then, he practically runs to his car. He hasn’t changed much; the only place he ever felt comfortable was at his garage.

“There’s a menu if we want to order food,” Dom mentions. “We can order whatever we want, and they’ll bring it to the room for us.”

We decide on pizza, and I kiss Dom’s neck again before standing and walking to the counter where the phone sits. I look over the menu one more time to see if there’s anything else I might want. I’m not sure if pizza sounds good.

Mav walks over and puts his hands on the counter, caging me in.

I turn and crack a half-smile. “Want something?”

“Hmm.”

He runs his hands up my arms and along my neck to cup my cheeks before he lowers his sexy ass lips to mine. His tongue dips and swirls in my mouth, making me moan, and he pushes his knee between my legs.

I drop the menu to run one hand up his back and into his silky, black hair. My other hand goes around his waist. We stand there, wrapped up in each other, until Cin clears her throat, reminding us we aren’t the only ones in the room.

My eyes pop open, cheeks burning red, and I pull away from Mav’s lips.

Dom, who walked over to join us at some point, bends and picks up the menu from the floor, holding it out.

“Brother?” Mav questions.

Dom hands him the menu. “Order the pizza.”

“But I’m b-b-buuuusssy.” Mav pouts.

Dom stares at him. “Not anymore.”
