“I’ll take that as a resounding no.” Back on my feet, I followed him over, catching sight of Tucker’s tags in the reflection before standing off to his side. I slid my hand up and down the center of his back, hoping to calm him. Maybe myself, too.
He slowly lifted his head, meeting my eyes in the mirror. “Three rounds with you watching me fight, and then you have to swim to a boat with your parents before all hell breaks loose . . .” His quick summation of what was going to happen in three hours and fifty-two minutes (give or take a few), had my stomach doing somersaults.
“We’re the good guys. We’re winning.” There’s no choice. “We’re the authors of this story, and I refuse to write in any damsel-in-distress moments.” He faced me as I continued rambling. “No explosions that hurt one of us. No one is getting taken. And?—”
My words died in his mouth when he kissed me, linking our fingers together at our sides as I walked backward until I was up against the wall.
“Sorry, I just . . .” he apologized before going back to kissing me like this moment might somehow save both of us.
Please, God, let a kiss be what wakes us up from the nightmare we were in.
He positioned our united fists against the wall over my shoulders, kissing me with even more fervor than before.
“I’m also just . . .” I sighed.
“So maybe we just . . .?”
Oliver and our telepathic conversation had me nodding. “Yeah, let’s.”
He released a groan of surrender, slanting his mouth over mine again. At the feel of his cock tenting the towel, I freed one hand from his to remove it from his hips. It fell between us, and I closed my hand around his engorged shaft.
“Mya. Fuck.”
“Grunting again, I see.” I slid my hand up and down his length.
Before he could stop me, I worked my second hand free and lowered to my knees on the fallen towel.
Cupping his balls with one hand, I took his hard length in the other and set my mouth at his crown.
“Holy fuck, it’s been a long . . . time since . . .”
Three hours and fifty-ish minutes until a real-life Hunger Games started, and there I was going down on him. I didn’t care if that was crazy or not. He needed to loosen up, get some relief before he headed into that ring, and if getting him off with my mouth would accomplish that, I was here for it.
He grabbed hold of my hair, tangling his fingers up in my locks as I sucked him off, including swallowing every last drop when he came hard.
“You realize that you stole all my energy now,” he said huskily as he helped me stand. “I’ll need at least three sandwiches to refuel from what you just did.”
I wiped my mouth in satisfaction and laughed. “Only three? I guess I’ve lost my touch.”
“And I’ve lost my mind to let you do that, but fuck if I care.” He hauled me into his arms just as someone knocked once, popping our bubble, drawing us back to reality.
“There’s someone here for you, Oliver,” Gray said. “In the hallway with me.”
Oh God. Is it that time already? I hadn’t expected him here until closer to the time.
Oliver stepped back, a hesitant expression crossing his face before he went for his towel.
My heart jumped into my throat, worried once he opened up the door, he’d be mad at me for what I did. And I wasn’t talking about the blow job.
Oliver resecured the towel around his waist, then unlocked the door and opened it.
And yup, you’re here. Sam stood alongside Gray.
Oliver peered over at me, understanding what I did and why, and his eyes narrowed for a brief moment before he zeroed back in on Sam.
“You didn’t think I’d let you fight tonight without me being there for you, now did you?” Sam removed his cowboy hat, resting it against his abdomen. “I won’t take no for an answer,” he added gruffly as Gray walked away.
Oliver remained quiet for a moment before responding in a strained voice, “There’s no one I’d rather have in my corner during that fight than you, Dad.” He widened his stance, arching back his shoulders and tacked on with conviction, “And there’s no one else I’d rather have protecting the woman I love on that boat after the fight. Because like hell are you staying on that island for part two.”
