He made a sleepy sound and cradled the back of my neck. It’s okay.
Thank the gods for that. As much as I’d wanted to kiss Seth, I didn’t want to fuck things up with Caden.
I lifted my face and pressed a soft kiss to his mouth. We passed a few glorious seconds like that, slow, deep kisses that made my toes curl.
When he released the pressure on my neck, I pulled back and set my forehead against his. “I love you so fucking much. It’s honestly like stupid levels of love at this point. Pretty sure it’s bordering on illegal levels.”
“We’ll have to apply for permits to carry that much love around.” He grinned up at me. “Otherwise you’ll have to pay a very hefty—” He nipped my lip. “—fine.”
It wasn’t that long after dinner, but I was wiped. I glanced towards the bathroom. Seth was still hogging the shower. Oh well. It wasn’t really a hardship to stay snuggled up where I was to wait until he finished.
Caden followed my gaze. We could use the patio shower and indulge in the hot tub?
“Sounds like heaven.”
I slid off Caden with deliberate slowness, keeping our gazes locked, squeezing to feel every ridge as he slipped out of me. I dropped my panties and left it on the floor with the rest of my discarded clothing. Seeing the remnants of what had just happened had my pussy clenching. Caden stood behind me and slid a firm hand over my stomach, leaning down to kiss my shoulder.
I hooked my hand into his and tugged him into the porch. He stripped off his clothes and tossed them back inside, and after we’d rinsed we slipped into the warm water. Caden pulled me onto his lap. Sweet and potent bliss left me breathless, weightless, and I absolutely never wanted to move from this spot.
At some point Seth emerged from the shower and popped his head through the glass doors. He only had a towel wrapped around his hips and I struggled to keep from staring at the lean planes of his chest.
“Um, would it be weird if I hot-tubbed too?”
“We’re naked,” said Caden bluntly. “You can go on the other side.”
A little thrill snaked up my spine. I wasn’t going to question Caden’s sudden willingness to allow any of this to happen; I was going to enjoy it.
“Can…I be?” Seth asked. His cheeks were adorably flushed.
Caden put his hands over my eyes. “Get in.”
I couldn’t help but laugh and playfully tug at his hands. Caden didn’t relent until Seth was sitting chest-deep in the water at the opposite corner.
He was looking at us like he had no idea how to feel. I was still plenty keyed up, but I could definitely sympathize with the emotional confusion.
“Are we okay?” he asked.
I nodded and let my toes brush against his calf. “I’m good.”
Caden slid a possessive hand around my throat. “We’re okay.”
Seth swallowed hard and nodded. His hand caught my ankle and lifted my feet onto his knees. He dug his thumbs into the arch of my foot and I groaned. Foot massages were the best. I didn’t care what kind of ridiculous sounds I made; there was no way I was pulling that foot back until Seth decided to stop.
Gods.
I was so relaxed.
This was great. I felt like someone should be luxuriously feeding me grapes and fanning me with peacock feathers. I hummed happily and let myself float. I draped a hand over my pussy for Caden’s benefit so I didn’t expose everything to Seth. I didn’t particularly care one way or the other. It wasn’t like Seth was going to drag me over and ravish me in front of my boyfriend.
Oof.
What a thought that was.
I glanced at Seth, and he was staring at me like I was a jar of candy and he was a little kid pressed up against the glass with no money. Well, I wasn’t the one keeping the lid on the candy jar. Maybe with these new developments, we’d get closer to that reality. Seth switched to my other foot and worked out every minuscule knot and bit of tension he could find.
We didn’t play in the hot tub. Relaxing was lovely too. We’d be heading on another horrendously long drive tomorrow, this time to Portland, and my body already ached in anticipation of eighteen hours in the car. I had no idea what waited for us in Oregon, only that we were going to try to avoid the nest.
“We should try to do some research when we get settled tomorrow. Isn’t there a big-ass bookstore in Portland? Maybe they’ve got something useful in the old books?” I suggested.
