“I just . . “ She trailed off, her heart drumming loudly in my ears. “I miss you so much and I don’t want to fight with you anymore.”

“I miss every piece of you.” I raised a hand and ran a thumb across her bottom lip before trailing it down her face, onto her throat, and not stopping until I got to her breast.

Her sweet lure was stronger than it had ever been, causing my dick to throb.

“You smell delicious.” I placed a hand against the tree to hold me up as I leaned in, brushing my lips against her neck. “Do you want me to make you come, mama? Is that what you want? Is that what you need?”

She let out a breathy whine through her nose and I took it as a yes. I glided my tongue over the smooth skin of her neck before gently sucking it. Her blood pumped fast against my lips, elongating my fangs and causing them to scrape her skin.

“You missed your feeding yesterday,” she said, her tone sultry and seductive. “Are you hungry?”

“More than you can imagine,” I whispered into the dip of her neck.

Moving my hand across the smooth curve of her hip and down to her thigh, I yanked it up. Her core was warm when I pressed my cock against her.

Lyric’s lustful scent became stronger, taking over my senses. I was ready to give her everything she ever wanted when a twig snapped in the distance, switching my brain to red alert.

Of course, it could’ve been an animal out here in the middle of the woods, but when I glanced in the direction of the sound and saw a soft glow, I knew it was a person.

The faint sound of buttons being pushed fell upon my ears.

Someone had a cell phone.

I dropped Lyric’s leg and lifted my finger, pressing it against her lips, letting her know to be quiet. “Stay here.”

Nellie’s natural scent forced its way into my nostrils.

No fucking way.

Moving as fast as possible wasn’t something I did often because it drained my power and required me to feed more frequently, but I was ready to kill the rat.

I bolted toward her, coming up from behind.

“Hey. It’s me,” Nellie whispered a mere second before I yanked the phone from her ear.

She slung around and I held it in front of her face, bending it in half, causing the glass to shatter. She let out a blood-curdling scream and ran away from me. But I was right behind her, forcefully pulling her into a chokehold.

“Who were you calling?” I asked, and she tapped my arm repeatedly, barely able to breathe.

“Winston!” Lyric shouted, racing toward us. “Let her go.”

“I can’t. I’m interrogating her.”

Nellie clawed at my forearm and just as I was about to snap her neck, Ravage appeared in front of me.

“You can’t question her if she’s dead, boy!” He tugged at my arm, causing me to let go of Nellie. She ran toward the camp, crying heavily.

Lyric sighed and went after her, leaving me with Ravage who asked, “What the hell is going on?”

“She was making a phone call. Our damn secrets are probably being shared with Venom!”

“And instead of sitting back and listening, you scare the shit out of her?” Ravage shook his head the way he always did when disappointed, and turned away.

I followed, hoping it was finally time to kill the rat.

Back at camp, the music had ceased and all eyes were on Nellie, tears streaming down her cheeks as she clung to Jimmy.

“Why did you do that to her?” Randi asked, stomping up to me with a scowl on her face. “She was calling her mother because she misses her. We all miss our families but you keep us locked up here like we’re animals.”
