I didn’t have to ask what Eli had told Viktor to upset him. I was certain that Eli figured out that I was attracted to them both. Now they were going to make me choose. And I had no idea how to do that. I hadn’t spent much time with either of them. There was no way to know which one would be better for me.

I sighed out of frustration and they both turned to look at me. “You might as well come back over here. I know what you’re talking about.”

Eli looked from my face to Viktor and nodded before coming to sit next to me on the ground. Viktor made a face as if sitting on the ground was beneath him, and Eli laughed. “You always were a pretty boy.”

I couldn’t help chuckling at Eli teasing Viktor. I knew they had been friends. Was there a way they could get back to those feelings?

Viktor growled again and sat on the opposite side of me. Now I was stuck in the middle. It didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would.

“Well? What exactly is it you think we were talking about?” Viktor began while reaching for my hand. I let him take it, and I started tracing my thumb on his.

“You want me to choose,” I said, threading my fingers through Eli’s. My eyes were filled with tears, and there was nowhere for me to hide from their stares.

“But you don’t want to, do you, love?” Eli said with a smirk. If looks could kill, Viktor’s eyes would have shot daggers at him.

“I don’t know how to.” I had to tell them. I couldn’t be scared anymore. “We’ve been through a lot in such a short time. But as crazy as it sounds, I like you both, and I don’t want to choose between you. I wish I could have you both. I know it’s ridiculous to even suggest something like this. I’m sorry.”

I tried to pull my hands back, but neither vampire would let go. I looked from Eli to Viktor, confused at their lack of reaction to what I had said. I expected another fight to break out.

“I typically don’t like to share, but for you, I might make an exception, love.” Eli winked at me and laughed at the thought. Viktor scowled at him.

“I’m not sure that I can do that,” Viktor replied, not letting go of my hand. His jaw was clenched and he seemed to be holding himself back.

“See, love? He’s already taking himself out of the equation. Problem solved.” Eli’s joke made Viktor growl again, and I heard the soft click of fangs.

“Please don’t start fighting. The three of us have to figure this out. I feel like I’m being ripped in half. It hurts,” I couldn’t stop the tears from falling.

At that moment, I learned just how powerful tears were. Eli stood up and pulled me into his arms, and Viktor wiped my cheeks with his thumbs. In a moment, they went from debating killing each other to taking care of me. It was touching and confusing.

“I don’t know what’s going on here, but I can’t choose. When I think about it, I feel as if my heart is being ripped in half. The two of you will have to decide.” I whispered the words as tears continued to fall.

Eli held me for a few minutes more, then suddenly I was in Viktor’s arms. It startled me and I looked around. Eli was still standing close enough to touch me, but he was giving Viktor a moment. I couldn’t believe the completely selfless gesture.

“Well, Vik, what are we gonna do about this?” I looked up again to see Eli staring at Viktor. There was no animosity left, only the question standing between them.

“Well, Strain, I guess that’s up to our girl, isn’t it?” Viktor replied through gritted teeth.

I could feel the tears coming again. Before I could say anything, Eli stepped closer and pulled both Viktor and me into a bear hug.

“It’s not going to be easy, Myshka, but I’m willing to try if it makes you happy.” Viktor said, shoving Eli away.

“Agreed. It’s been a long feud, and we’ll probably still do stuff to annoy each other, but I think we can make it work. For you, love.”

It was strange to see them agree on something. I wasn’t sure how this would work and had a ton of questions.

“We’re not going to worry about any of the details right now, love. It’ll be fine; don’t worry,” Eli assured me.

“Well, there is one decision you’ll have to make today, Myshka,” Viktor cut in.

My eyes widened in terror. “There is?” I could feel my heart start racing. I thought the panic was over, but here it was again.

“Where are you staying tonight?” Viktor winked and grinned at me. My expression made Eli laugh.

“Oh. I don’t know. I didn’t expect you two to get along or to agree to share, honestly,” I admitted.
