“A little after one am. The bar is all done and refilled for tomorrow. We just have the fruit to do. Oh, and I have done the books for you,” Jayne says.
“Why did you let me sleep for so long?” I turn, saying to Rob.
“I fell asleep too, I only woke up when they came in,” nodding his head in Jayne and Owen's direction.
I turn my head back towards Jayne and smile at her. “Thanks, I don't know what I'd do without you.”
“It's all good. That's what best friends do. I'll always be here to help you.”
Rob stands up and bends forward giving me a kiss, “I've got to go. I've got a busy day tomorrow. I'll see you later,” he smiles.
“Stay,” I say as I grab hold of his hand, willing him to stop with me.
“You sure?”
I smile and nod my head at him. As I stand up I get a nauseous feeling. “Thanks again Jay, love you. Night Owen.”
They say night back, as I'm walking into my room.
Chapter Nineteen
“Ilove Sunday mornings. I normally only get an extra hour in bed,” I'm telling Rob, as I pull the quilt up over me. We are both off today. “So whose turn is it to cook dinner? Oh, and are you going to tell me the second thing now?”
He pulls me into him, but I move so I can prop myself up on my elbow. He turns onto his side so we are looking at each other.
“Come on, the suspense is killing me.”
“I did say last night I won't be here, as I've things to do.” He starts to laugh. “I was going to give you the news last night, but yours was far better.”
I cut my eyes at him. “Come on.”
“I got a record deal,” he says nonchalantly.
“Oh my god,” my eyes go wide as I scream and jump up, pushing him back so I can climb on top of him. “Why didn't you say last night, this is big, huge news. We have to celebrate!” I bend down kissing him. “I'm so happy for you.”
“For us, you mean. They have asked me to play at a couple of concerts too, clearly I said yes. And as for us, I'm not going anywhere. I love you,” he smiles as he kisses me soft and gently.
“I love you too. When are we telling the others and celebrating your good news?” I ask him as I move from off his lap as my phone rings.
“Whenever you like. My first concert is tonight at the town hall. That's why I can't cook dinner.”
“Oh wow, this is real quick. I'm so excited for you. Everything's just falling into place.”
Just as I get to my phone it stops. I look at the screen, unknown number. I turn and look at Rob, shrugging my shoulders.
“Well if it's important they will ring back.”
Rob smiles at me. “As I was saying, I'm going to hand my notice in at the bank tomorrow. I won't have the time to do it all. It will be practice, practice and more practice, along with recording. I've got to get my clothes ready and make sure that my shirt and cummerbund are ironed. I'm not sure if I should wear my tails with my waistcoat or my jacket.”
“Oh definitely go with tails, and take a photo, I want to see what you look like. Are you sure about giving your notice?” I walk towards the bedroom door. “You want a cuppa,” I ask him as I walk out the room.
“Yeah sure.”
“Morning Jay.”
“Morning, tea's in the pot.”
“Morning,” I hear Jay say. I turn and look over my shoulder, Rob is leaning against the worktop.
