Sadie: Sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. Things happened quite fast. I’m staying in Vegas!
Cece: Haha *laughing emoji* I thought you might. You two are perfect for each other *heart eyes emoji*
Sadie: We’ll need to figure out visiting dates. I’d love to come see the forest. And you *face blowing a kiss emoji*
Cece: I’d love to see you too! Let’s do a video chat soon. I want to hear all about how he convinced you to stay.
Sadie: I’m embarrassed to say it wasn’t too difficult. But some pretty shoes might have helped *star-struck emoji*
Cece: Shoes! The way to your heart! He does know you!
Sadie: How are things with you and Adelbert? I picked up on some interesting vibes there.
Cece: It’s nothing. I hardly see him.
Sadie: Want me to ask Everett to say something to him?
Cece: Please don’t. I’m okay. Don’t worry about me. You go and keep “consummating” away *laughing emoji* *fire emoji* *clapping hands emoji*
Sadie: Okay. But if you change your mind, tell me.
Cece: Will do. BTW, you two weren’t as discreet as you thought you were on that call. You couldn’t stop squirming. *laughing emoji* And your blush *winking emoji*
Chapter thirty-five
Everett
My hunger for Sadie knows no bounds. The near-constant ache to be inside her, to satisfy her, make her scream my name, is a driving force beating within my chest.
After taking her over my desk, I decide we need to return to a public setting before I listen to my cock again.
While she showers and gets ready, I step out into the bright summer sun to meet Pierce at the door. I compiled a list of items that Sadie might want and arranged for Pierce to collect and drop them here.
“Mr. Ülavere, good to see you again,” he greets me impassively, holding the bags I sent for in his large hands.
“Thanks, Pierce. Everything good back at the hotel?” I ask him, not really expecting much of an answer as I scan through the items in the bags.
“All things are running smoothly. I do have one thing to report, though.”
At that, my head snaps up. “What’s happened?”
Pierce isn’t ruffled by much, but his tone suddenly has me on edge, my heart taking on a new rhythm in my chest.
“Your father has been seen walking around the casino. With Alexandra. They have not requested to see you yet. There are a couple of whales staying with us now that we think they might be trying to poach. They have been seen going around to the other casinos and doing the same with high rollers there, offering more amenities and bigger perks.”
“Why didn’t anyone report on this earlier?” I ask, agitated with myself for not being aware of what’s going on in my own casino, postorgasm glow melting away instantly.
“Um”—Pierce shifts uncomfortably and runs a hand across his bald head—“I think mild attempts to contact you have been made today. Perhaps you have been a bit… preoccupied, sir? Sorry, it’s not my place to say that.” Pierce looks stricken for daring to speak so bluntly.
I’d never fault him for that. His request for formality has always trumped my more lax approach to how we should address each other.
“Don’t worry, Pierce. And thank you. I’ll be along shortly. Please keep an eye on them and let the staff report if they find anything odd.”
“Yes, sir.” Accepting my dismissal, he gets in his car and goes back to Auvere to do my bidding.
I really hope my father hasn’t caused too much damage to my business by the time I arrive.
I go back in to find Sadie, hoping she’ll be pleased with what I’ve had put together for her.
