He planted another kiss on my lips before he slipped on a white baseball cap and his sunglasses.
Chapter 20
Raphael Caruso
Antonio leaned forward, peering through the binoculars. "You see him?"
"Yeah. He’s on his way out of the hotel with his security guy, big fucker. I’m not sure I can take him," Raphael replied, shaking his head.
"You don’t need to worry about his size when you have a gun."
"If he’s out of the hotel, she’s by herself."
My brother, two of our associates and I were stationed in a modest hotel across the street from The Diamond Square Resorts. With a few bribes, I had managed to learn Oliver Fox and his fiancée’s suite number and secured a room with a view of their location.
The Royal Sands might not have been as luxurious as Diamond Square, bit its rooftop deck provided a perfect vantage point for observing Fox’s movements.
I fled to Italy after the incident with Roberts Stewart, hiding from Antonio’s wrath. My brother was ruthless when crossed, and I knew I needed to eliminate both Oliver and the girl to earn my way back into my brother’s good graces.
We had discovered Ryleigh Stewart unexpectedly, thanks to an article about cold cases that jogged her memory. I had attempted to approach her weeks ago, hoping to capture her and bring her to Antonio, bust she had escaped into Fox’s heavily secured building.
Oliver Fox had clearly sensed the danger; security around the couple had tightened considerably. Eight agents now protected them, making my task more challenging. With their wedding approaching and plans for a secluded honeymoon on an island Oliver owned, we saw an opportunity to strike.
I grinned as I watched Ryleigh Stewart emerge from Diamond Square with two formidable-looking women, likely her security detail. I knew I could overpower them, despite their apparent strength.
I wished I could take care of Ryleigh now, but part of the plan was taking care of them together. No one would hear from them or the security detail for days before someone came to check. By the time they were found, the heat would bloat their dead bodies, making them grotesque and almost unrecognizable. The only loose end would be Jonah and he was still missing but eventually would surface.
Yes, the lives of Oliver Fox and his bride would be coming to an end soon. It would be one hell of a honeymoon.
