“Then I’ll make sure not to give you a reason,” I replied, my voice shaking but determined. “If you let me live, I’ll show you there’s more to life than death and bloodshed.”

“Bold words,” he mused, releasing my arm and stepping back. “But can you back them up?”

I swallowed hard, knowing that my life hung in the balance. “I can try.”

“Good,” Riot said, his expression unreadable. “You’d better pray you succeed, or this will be your final act of defiance.”

As I stood there, trembling before the man who could end my life with a single swing of his blade, I knew everything had changed. Something had sparked between us, a connection neither of us fully understood.

And as I stared into the eyes of the notorious Butcher of Raven’s Vale, I found myself filled not with terror, but with anticipation for what would come next.

Chapter Two

Riot

I stared at Hollis’ trembling form, savoring the fear tainting the air around her. It was thick and heady like the scent of freshly spilled blood. I circled her, smiling as she trembled. Defenseless. And mine.

“Let’s make this a bit more… interesting, shall we, little mouse?” I grabbed her by the arm and forced her to meet my gaze. “You have a choice, Hollis. You can either let me carve my art into your soft skin… or…”

She tensed, her eyes darkening as fear overtook her. I leaned in, breathing in her scent and flicking my tongue out to trace the line of her jaw.

“Or you can be a good girl and accept my hospitality.”

“Wh-what… what do you want from me?” she asked.

I couldn’t help but laugh at her naïvety. “I want to see you squirm, dollface. To watch as you drown in the filth and depravity that lies just below your pretty surface. So, what’ll it be? My knife or my… company?”

I could practically see her thoughts scroll across her face as she contemplated her options. Tears slipped down her cheeks, and I knew she’d made her choice. “Fine. I-I’ll… I’ll… accept your… hospitality.”

“Good girl.” I dragged her into the mansion I shared with Crash and Kane. Up the stairs and down the hall to my room. Slamming the door shut behind us, I stared at her in anticipation. “Now, strip.”

She seemed paralyzed with fear at first, then slowly began to obey. Once she stood completely bare, I let my gaze trace over every inch of her curves. My cock became rock hard behind my zipper, and I couldn’t wait to make her mine.

I trailed my hand down her spine and over her hip. Fear rolled off her as I unbuckled my belt and slid down the zipper on my jeans. “Beg me.”

She shook her head, and I heard a whimper escape her. Looked like my little mouse wasn’t going to play nicely. But she was new to this, so I’d make an allowance or two.

“Beg me,” I repeated.

“Please… don’t hurt me.”

“Say it,” I demanded.

“S-screw you,” she said.

I grabbed her by the hair, yanking her head back so our eyes met. “Careful, pet. I can make this feel a whole lot worse.”

Defeated, she muttered, “Fine. Use me. Just… Don’t hurt me.”

I couldn’t help but laugh a little. No one had ever defied me the way she did. Not and lived to talk about it. And yet, here she stood, still unblemished.

“Your spirit won’t do you any favors. It only makes me want to beat it out of you.”

I dragged her, naked and trembling, over to my bed. The door opened, and I cursed as I glanced over at Crash and Kane.

“Did you bring a toy home?” Crash asked. “Last time you killed your sacrifice in the streets. But it looks like you want to play with this one a little more.”

“Get the fuck out,” I said, turning back to Hollis.
