He looks up at me and smiles. He’s a big man, deep blue eyes, but there’s a sadness there I hadn’t seen before. “Just hate to see a good thingend.”

“What goodthing?”

His voice is like gravel as he stands and faces me. “You know what,” he says. “You think we do this three nights in arow?”

I shake my head. “I guessnot.”

“No, it’s because of you. We’re all feeling excited around you.” He goes quiet for a second, cocking his head. “I see what they mean, honestly.”

“Excuse me?” I don’t know what he means. He’s not makingsense.

He steps closer to me, taking a breath. “You have this way aboutyou…”

“Ido?”

He nods. “That’s why we invited all those women here tonight. To compareyou.”

“What?” I ask. “That’sinsane.”

He laughs softly. “I know. It was my idea, though.”

“Why?”

He stops inches away from me, towering over me. “I wanted proof. I had to see if you were really different. The other guys, they didn’t know that was myplan.”

“And?” I ask, a littlebreathless.

“And you are.” He tips my chin up. “I know I shouldn’t test you like that, it’s crazy and unfair. But we’re a tight group. We don’t let new people inside very often, and we definitely don’t all go after the same woman like this. That can invite…trouble.”

My heart is beating so fast, I can barely hear what he’ssaying.

“But with you, well… I understand now. I can seeit.”

“This is my last night,” I say, even though it hurts. “I won’t beback.”

“Not here, you won’t,” he says, a smile on his lips. “But you’ll see usagain.”

Without another word, he kisses me, sweet and slow. It’s not like the other guys. They were all fire and passion. There was an implication behind thosekisses.

This is simple, matter of fact. This kiss is all there is, and it feels good, right. It feels like we needed to do this earlier. He pulls me tighter against his enormous, muscular body, engulfing me, kissing medeep.

Slowly he releasesme.

“See you soon,” he says, and stalks out thedoor.

I stare after him, breathless, hearthammering.

What the hell justhappened?

All five men kissed me. And they keep saying things, like they’re sharing me, like they don’t mind if they all want me, if they all takeme…

Five men. Five strange, rich, gorgeous, powerful men. They don’t want it to endhere.

And I don’t know why it needsto.
