We grab new drinks and get a seat in a corner. “What do you think?” he asksme.

“This is great,” Isay.

“Good. I’mglad.”

“You’re a gooddancer.”

He smirks. “I’ve had somepractice.”

“Haveyou?”

“I like to dance, I guess. I know that’s weird for a man to say. But it’s fun, a good way to relievestress.”

“It’s not weird,” I say. “Although you don’t hear that often formguys.”

“Guess I’mdifferent.”

I can’t help but smile at him. “Guessso.”

He kisses me softly before we start talking more about ourselves. I ask him about how he knows the other guys and he tells me some funny stories from when they wereyounger.

“Right after college, Chris thought he could drink an entire case of beer on hisown.”

“Seriously? Isn’t that thirtybeers?”

“He cheated and got twenty-four. But still, that’s a lot of beer in one night for oneguy.”

“That’s an impossibleamount.”

He grins at me. “So you see where the story’sgoing.”

“Whathappened?”

“He puked and passed out in a pool after sixteen beers. I had to fish him out before hedrowned.”

I laugh, shaking my head. “Were you all socrazy?”

“Yeah,” he admits. “We’ve done it all. Huge parties, drugs, allthat.”

“When did you get so successful?” Iask.

“Fifteen years ago, basically. We found this girl, Ashley Paige, you probably recognize thename.”

“She had a few hits,” I say, barely rememberingher.

“Yep, that’s right. We discovered her and brought her up. She was our first success and that catapulted us into thebusiness.”

“So you were all prettyyoung.”

“Too young,” he says, laughing. “We used to burn through money like it wasnothing.”

“Now you’re rich,” I pointout.

“True, we’re all pretty rich. But back then we couldn’t have known how it would turnout.”

“Good thing you were right to gamble onyourselves.”

He smiles at me and leans back in his chair. “Honestly, it’s all because of the group. Without each other, I don’t think we’d be as successful as we are. I mean, we’re all smart, driven guys, but together… we just work. We’re a step ahead of thecompetition.”
