“Why out here?” I asked. The wind kept whipping my hair and I was sure our meal would have as much sand as salt.
“You like the water.”
“Is that why we went on the boat?”
“Yeah.”
“I thought you would have picked the helicopter.”
“Elena,” he sighed. “I know you’ve got me pegged as being an asshole, but even I’m not that big a douchbag.”
We sat in silence, and I felt guilty for agreeing to marry a man without trusting him to be a decent human being. I needed to stop being close minded. If this experience had changed me, I had to trust that it had also changed Kye.
We’d made each other better people, I hoped.
“I’ve got a gift for you.”
“Really?” I half squealed.
“Look, I spoke to Bree after you said yes, and I got them to get this for you.”
He handed me a box.
“I don’t know how else to show you this is serious for me. When my grandfather died, he left me the engagement ring. He’d kept it on his pinky finger every day after my grandmother died. I never thought I’d be giving it to anyone. I never thought I’d be getting married.”
He held my hand, placing the box in the palm and carefully wrapping my fingers around the edge.
“Elena Mercer. Will you wear the ring my grandmother wore most of her life? Tomorrow, when we face each other, will you marry me? Will you wear my grandmother’s ring for the rest of your life? Will you be my wife?”
On the quiet of the beach with seemingly only the wind and surf around us, I said the same words that I would utter less than twenty-four hours later, “Kye Branson, I do.”
Marry In Haste
Australian Love Story Becomes Real
My sources tell me that not one, but two couples are returning to the mainland with gold bands. Yes, that’s right Australia. Not only are the bands real, the love is real, and the marriages are legit.
Picture perfect and perfectly suited. That’s how friends are describing Benjamin and Kenzie. These two might just be Australia’s most loved up couple. Our sexy philanthropist has no problems sharing his family’s fortune with animal charities and hospitals. I’m betting we won’t be able to open a magazine without seeing Sydney’s latest power couple strutting their stuff and showing their love.
Who’s the most loved up couple? I’m glad you asked. A little birdie tells me that Kye and Elena Branson are the other happy newly-weds.
It’s up to Danielle’s Darlings to find out the truth. Has Elena tamed our bad boy or is he still sowing his wild oats? Take pics, send deets.

Elena
“Are we really doing this?”
I clutched my new husband’s hand as we exited the plane and arrived back into the humidity of Sydney.
“Kye, how’s married life?”
“Elena, how does it feel being married to Australia’s sexiest bachelor?”
“Kye, give us a smile?”
“Kye, put your arm around her.”
