“So warm and wet for me. Your cunt is perfect.”

I can barely spit out words.

“Mmmhmm.” I moan lightly against his chest as he straightens my lace panties back out and smooths down my skirt.

He chuckles softly against my ear, and adjusts himself back into his jeans, “Come on. CiCi is going to kick my ass if I don’t help her clean the kitchen.”

I look at him questioningly. “They have this huge house but no one to clean up the kitchen?”

He laughs, “Aside from Miles and the nanny, they do their own housework. The huge house out in the country is just because he wants Ari as far away from the city as possible.”

“Ari?” I look up at him.

“Drake’s daughter.” He beams, “My god-daughter.”

My heart flutters at how his eyes twinkle when he mentions her name, how proud he is to have her in his life. And just like that the fear of losing him takes over again.

Chapter eighteen

Calista

E: Any update?

Calista: We’re working on it.

E: Work faster. Or I’ll find someone else more capable.

Calista: There is no one more capable than me.

Sitting in the bunker, I am mindlessly staring off into space and tapping my pen on the desk as my Society phone vibrates on the desk. The clanging of Shado using the salmon ladder is bouncing off the walls. The sound is grating against my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.

Why am I so unnerved tonight?

Rereading the messages, I know Everly is starting to become impatient that we haven’t fulfilled her request yet. Not wanting to piss her off and become the subject of her men’s wrath, I say a silent prayer that tonight will be the night we capture Quinn.

As if the universe was listening, her voice breaks through my thoughts.

“I don’t need a babysitter.” I hear Quinn’s voice come through the speaker of my computer in the bunker.

Which is then followed by Allister Craye’s voice. “Sweetheart, you do not need to be out there alone.”

“Do not call me sweetheart. You lost that right.” She snaps.

Arching my eyebrows, I stare at the black screen with the audio line, as if it will tell me what that was about.

Maybe Daddy’s little girl has a backbone after all.

Shado walks up behind me, breathless from his workout and wraps his arms around me.

I melt into his arms, “Sounds like she is about to make a break for it. Craye pissed her off somehow.”

Static plays across the audio line and then I hear a car engine roar to life, followed by Craye yelling Quinn’s name.

Within seconds, I hear the car accelerating. I hurriedly click the red dot on the computer screen which pulls up the tracking beacon inside the ear piece.

I watch on the screen as the small dot accelerates toward the epicenter of Edinburgh.

She’s heading into Raventown.
