Page 76 of Curvy Quirky Omega

“Everyone has a price.”

Something was hurting my omega and I could not let it continue. I had to destroy it – protect her. Protect my pack.

All I could smell was oranges and I slipped my hands in my pockets, knowing I didn’t need to physically touch anyone to accomplish what needed to be done.

I focused my pheromones and aura on the woman I barely recognized. She was nothing but an alpha – one who reminded me of a painful loss, but it didn’t matter. She would suffer just as my omega did.

The sound of choking made me smile.

It didn’t bother me that the source of my omega’s pain wasn’t the only one paying for this transgression either. They’d sat there and done nothing so I would show them what it meant to be a bystander to a crime – how it was no different than committing the crime themselves.

Warmth wrapped around my waist and I looked down to see Lucy hugging me with her face pressed into my shirt. The scent of black currants and roses curled around me, easing the sickening stench of sandalwood and oranges flooding the room.

She looked up at me then and the sudden change in her eyes made the fury pause.

They were still grey, but only just.

Her eyes were full of violets – a soft, pale color that darkened with every passing second. Was I losing my mind, or were her eyes changing color right in front of me?

Sharp greenery helped clear my head, tempered with the sweetness of her dark roses to create the most complex scent I’d ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It was an odd combination for an omega, but it suited her so well.

Lucy reached up and breathed in deep, her eyes getting darker and darker as her scent filled the room – dancing with mine. She slid her hands against my cheeks and up into my hair, using it to tug me down.

Why was I so angry when she was right here, looking at me like this?

All I could feel was how delicious she thought my scent was. Lucy even licked her lips like she wanted to taste it on her tongue and I almost lost my mind, ready to shove her to her knees so I could give her exactly what she wanted to eat.

“If you hurt Frankie, I’ll kill you.”

Shit.

I slid my gaze to the red-haired alpha who was wearing a mask to help filter out the pheromones.

So, my omega liked to play games too.

Looking back at Lucy, I bared my teeth at her, irritated she’d made me worry for no fucking reason.

Then she popped up on her tiptoes and licked my canine, giving me a single drop of her blood.

Sweet, just like her scent.

I grabbed her face, pulling her closer so I could taste everything. Only the slight flare of her embarrassment kept me from doing more.

Ripping away from her with a snarl, I promised myself I’d get back at her for this later.

Lucy yanked me back down, forcing me to look at her. “Do you doubt me?”

Never.

“Let me handle it then.”

I searched those gorgeous eyes that were almost as dark as her lipstick now, my fingers digging into her waist so I wouldn’t tear the world apart. She seemed confident and calm, but there was violence on the air and it wasn’t mine.

It was delicious and I wanted more.

“Do your worst, baby. Make her bleed. I’ll handle the rest.”

Lucy narrowed her eyes. “What am I going to do with you?”
