These doors opened inward too so we’d be fighting against their natural swing, but we could do it even though they were solid wood if we worked together.

“Five steps,” I told them, pointing to the area around the handles where the doors met. “The frame and the doors are made from ironwood gifted by the Steele pack, but the locks are similar to the ones Aegis uses. They connect to the hinges through the metal frame which is why you couldn’t do it alone. Five steps back and aim here. Our best bet is breaking the locks with brute force.”

The smoke was getting worse, but it wouldn’t matter once we got the doors open.

I unsheathed the knife from my belt and jammed it between the doors, shoving sideways. This was going to hurt, but it was the only way. “You have to do it at the exact same time.” I knew Cas would follow my instructions perfectly, but Grimm?

The other alpha nodded once and went back exactly five steps. He was a hulking brute too. Bigger than Cas and wider. These two were physically stronger than anyone in Acheron. If they couldn’t get the doors open, no one could.

“Try to get it done the first time,” I told them. “The metal’s already getting hot.”

A little hotter and the iron would be more malleable, but we wouldn’t survive that kind of heat so it had to be now, before the rest of the people at the event lost their minds.

My mother and Francisco were handling them right now, giving them a purpose as they tried to put out the fire or hand out wet cloths, directing everyone to the floor as others tried to find a fire alarm that worked.

Even the sprinklers hadn’t turned on yet and I knew only three people had the skill to pull off something like this and two of them were bonded to me.

“Ready?” Cas asked.

“Don’t hold back,” Grimm growled. “Or I’ll use your body to break open the doors myself.”

“If you hurt him, I’ll kill you.” The calm statement from Cas made me grin.

I was going to get the fuck out of here and kill anyone who stood in my way. Lucy was alive. I may not be able to feel her, but I believed just as I had all those years I searched for a ghost. She was alive and I was going to find her before that bitch took one more thing from me.

“On the count of three.” My hands were starting to burn but I ignored it, pushing against the hilt as hard as I could to create as much structural weakness as possible. “One…two…three.”

They ran toward me like two semi-trucks and I dropped down right before they hit the doors, giving them the space they needed. Metal screeched and I was pretty sure one of my ribs cracked when Cas slammed into me, but the doors started to give and I added my weight to theirs, pressing my feet into the floor for leverage.

“This is why they should have let me bring C4,” Grimm snarled as he stepped back. “Again.”

Cas stepped back with him and I didn’t move, refusing to give up the tiny bit we’d gained. “If you don’t try to shatter every bone in your body opening this door, I’ll rip your jaw from your head with my bare hands.”

Grimm chuckled and rolled his shoulder back. “I’ve heard that’s a habit of yours.”

“Shut up,” I snapped, my ribs aching. “Just go.”

The sound of them smashing into the door was deafening. Another rib cracked and I shoved right when I felt the pain in Cas’s shoulder through the bond. This time the doors flew open and it must have looked ridiculous to see three legacy alphas tumble out like children listening at the door, but we didn’t have the luxury of time.

Grimm started barking out orders as Cas helped me up and I lost any sense of calm I’d gained when I saw there were members of the Tinley pack waiting for us on the other side, wearing the waitstaff uniform.

I didn’t have time for this, but I couldn’t kill my allies either.

Directing my pheromones and aura forward, I walked toward them, letting it all out. Every single drop that I’ve been holding back ever since my eyes turned red. I’ve never let anyone outside my pack see this side of me before, but I didn’t care. Not anymore.

They would all learn exactly how powerful I was and how stupid they had to be to threaten my family.

Thirteen Tinley members dressed as waitstaff dropped to their knees so hard I could hear the bones shattering. Their foreheads hit the floor a second later, cracking their skulls. Blood oozed out their ears as their faces turned purple and I slipped my hands in my pockets as I watched them try to take even a single breath.

I didn’t need to ask them where they’d taken Lucy. I just had to follow her tracking device. I didn’t need information either.

Once I got my omega back, I’d wipe Tinley from the face of the earth until they were nothing more than a pile of bones. I was the ruler of the city at the gates of hell. It seemed fitting to build my omega’s throne out of the bones of our enemies.

Their hearts burst before they suffocated and then more came. These ones had guns but they didn’t have the strength to even lift them when I turned my focus on them.

Guns clattered to the floor and they too shattered their knees caps to bow before me.

I’ve never felt this calm and in control before. I always thought the second I let it all out, I’d destroy everything, but now I could focus and target my enemy without destroying my allies.
