It honestly gave me whiplash.

The way she jumped from sleepy and content to amused and then aroused. Anxious and then annoyed right back to aroused.

All in the span of five minutes.

It was going to take some getting used to. I wanted to react to every tiny thing.

I was pleased she was content and then just as aroused. When she got anxious my alpha instincts demanded I do something about it but the irritation washed over that too quickly to actually react in time.

Liam was right. Those breathing exercises might not work as well as they used to, but I’ve never felt so calm or content in my life. Having her bonded to me made all those volatile instincts fade away simply because I could see the marks on her neck.

And so would everyone else.

Her scent had changed to the one she had during her heat when she’d been so steeped in our pheromones they became one, but I could still smell her black currants and dark roses more than all the others.

It was heady and addictive.

I breathed her in again just because I could and my dick flexed. Lucy looked up at me with those eyes that were still grey, as bright as the full moon. They hadn’t changed yet but I could see the dark rim around the grey was starting to look a little different.

Like the beginnings of a blood moon.

I didn’t know enough about bonded omegas to guess how long it would take for the color to settle, but I kind of liked that it wasn’t an instant change. I wanted to see them evolve as our pheromones started changing her body permanently.

Evidence that she was ours.

“What are you thinking about?” Lucy reached up and pushed my hair out of my eyes, studying me like she couldn’t possibly figure out why I was feeling the way that I was right now.

“Your eyes are still grey,” I explained. “I was just wondering when they would change.”

“Probably not for a few days. Maybe even a week.” Liam leaned in to get a good look at them, putting his nose right against hers like a fucking weirdo. “It takes a day or two for the pheromones to settle. Once the marks heal they’ll start working on her eyes.”

“That doesn’t explain why your dick keeps flexing against my stomach.” Lucy raised her eyebrow and tilted her head, still searching my face like I was a mystery she needed to solve.

“Your scent is all tangled in ours. Just like it was during your heat,” I admitted, feeling the corner of my mouth lift in a small smile when her arousal spiked through the bond again. “I know you’re tired, but maybe I can show you something.”

“Like what?” Lucy breathed. I could feel her heart pounding against my chest and my dick flexed again.

She wanted to watch, but that was something we should work our way up to. The bond was still fresh and I didn’t want to freak her out with too many foreign emotions.

I looked over at Liam to see him grinning down at our omega, those red eyes even darker than before.

“I could show you something I know you want to see,” I teased.

Reaching up to slide my fingers through Liam’s messy hair, I gripped it tight and forced him to look at me.

Lucy gasped when Liam’s chin lifted to ease the discomfort, his eyes meeting mine. He loved getting his hair pulled, something about it easing the tension in his skull, but he also loved that I could force him to do what I wanted despite the fact that I wasn’t a legacy alpha.

I was his rock – the one thing he could count on that wouldn’t shatter when he threw himself against it. There was nothing he could do to me that I couldn’t take.

And I was capable of making him beg.

Because he wanted to.

I’ve never seen him beg like he did for Lucy though. I’ve never seen him cry. That was not something I thought I’d ever get to see and I had our omega to thank for that. He looked just as pretty as she did with tears in his eyes.

Gently pulling down to expose his throat, I remembered the last time he’d let me do this.

I couldn’t wait to see him underneath me while he fucked her senseless, but I had to wait. Neither of them were in the right state of mind for that right now. Not after everything they went through today.
