“Fuck, Mila,” he grunts.

I feel empty when he finally pulls out, but it is only a second before I’m lifted into his arms. I wrap mine around his neck and I kiss him. My husband. My forever.

“You really want a baby?” I whisper.

“With you? More than anything,”

I nod, the emotions almost becoming too much. After years of hiding them so deep down, Nikolai, the man of stone, brings them out from me.

It’s a relief to be able to let them out rather than letting them bottle up inside ready to explode.

“I want that, too.”

“Good. I’ll give you everything, Mila. I promise.”

“And I’ll do the same for you, Niki.”

We stay like this for a long time, in each other’s arms letting the world pass us by in our little bubble of happiness.

Just thinking about a houseful of kids, with two parents that go out hunting together in the day, to anyone else would be crazy. To me, it is perfect.

“How does the saying go, couples that kill together, stay together?” I ask, pulling back.

Nikolai laughs, tightening his grip around my throat.

“I really don’t think that’s how it goes. But it works for us, wife.”

He pushes my head back against the hot tub and I look up at the stars blinking in the sky and wonder… could my life get any fucking better?

I don’t think so.

Who needs their seven minutes when I have a lifetime ahead of me with this man.

He has proven to me that love doesn’t wait for you to be ready.

And it doesn’t need you to be perfect.

Love is letting someone in, risking your heart and trusting them with it.

It has the potential to rip you apart. But, it’s worth that risk.

Our love might be different from the standard.

We’ve tried to kill each other and have the scars to prove it.

None of that matters.

All that matters is we continue to fight this war, together.

“Ya tebia liubiu. I love you,” he whispers against my cheek.

I bite down on my lip, purposely to get myself a punishment.

“Poka nas ne otpraviat v ad, dorogoy. Until we are sent to hell, baby.”

“Remember, we burn together, d’yavolitsa.”

We burn together, we rise together and then we unleash hell together.
