“Yes, Alpha.”

“Good. Get rid of him and call in a replacement,” I say, then hang up the phone. “Fuck!”

I call Nick and he picks up on the second ring. “What’s up?”

“Olivia knows everything, and she’s gone. She took off.”

“Whoa, whoa, slow down. She knows everything, as in everything?”

“Everything. I thought she was sound asleep upstairs, but she overheard Max and me talking this morning. She heard enough that when she confronted me, I had to tell her the truth.”

“Oh, shit.”

“Yeah. Oh, shit is right.”

“She took off? I’m assuming you didn’t just let her go?”

“Oh, no. She kneed me in the balls to drop me to the floor so she could make her escape.”

“Fuck, man. How did she get out of Pinewood?”

“I just talked to the lead guard at the guardhouse. She apparently convinced a new guy that she remembers everything, and because she outranks him, he had to follow her order to let her out.”

“Fired?”

“Yep. Has Chloe heard from her?”

“Not that I know of, but let me ask her.” Nick yells to Chloe, “Hey, Chloe, have you heard from Olivia this morning?” I hear her say no in the background. “No, sorry.”

Chloe’s voice chimes in again in the background. “What’s going on? Is something wrong?”

“Can I tell her?” Nick asks.

“Yeah, go ahead.”

“Olivia heard Ethan and your dad talking this morning. She knows everything.”

“Wait, so, she knows about us?” Chloe says, sounding like she’s on the verge of tears.

“Yeah, baby,” Nick says. “I’m sorry. Let me talk to Ethan and we’ll figure this out,” he says. “Okay, tell me what to do and I’m on it.”

“Can you be ready in ten minutes? I’ll pick you up and we’ll head to Denver.” I know exactly where she fucking went.

“I’ll be ready,” Nick says, and we end the call.

Olivia

He’ll come looking for me. There’s no doubt about that. I won’t make it easy for him to find me this time. I finally breathe out a sigh of relief once I’m on the interstate. I use my voice text to contact Anthony. He’s the only person I have to turn to right now.

Are you free to meet? I’m almost in Denver.

Anthony

Yes. I’m leaving the hospital in 20 minutes. You okay?
