“It doesn’t matter,” Nathan whispered, against my back. “None of the matter.”

“Are you sure?”

“Only we matter,” Nathan repeated, in a lower voice, sending shivers racing up and down my spine. “Do you know that this is what I’ve been thinking about all night?”

I squeezed my eyes shut and pushed backwards. “Like this?”

Nathan growled. “Exactly like this. You bent over my desk and me behind you, reveling in the feeling of how my dick feels inside your tight, wet pussy.”

His words made my knees weak and he began to thrust in long, smooth strokes, pushing me closer and closer to the edge. I kept one hand on the desk, and the other reached behind, momentarily flailing in the air until it found the back of his neck. I ran my fingers through his hair, and Nathan made a low whimpering noise in response. He pressed his hot and flushed skin against my back, and his arms came up on either side of me.

All at once, his rhythm changed again, becoming wilder and more frantic. His breathing turned heavy, the sound reverberating inside of my head. Without warning, he pinned both of my arms behind my back, and pressed his mouth against my ears. His hot breath did something strange to my insides and had me moaning and gasping while I moaned out his name. Another orgasm ripped through me, this one leaving me shaking and writhing. I rode out my high and exhaled, my shoulders sagging.

Nathan waited until I caught my breath before he spun me around and kissed me. His mouth moved against mine as he maneuvered us backwards, in the dimly lit, spacious office. Once we reached the couch in the corner, I toppled backwards, and he wrenched his lips away. I sat up on my back legs and reached for him. In the same breath, he reached for me, and our bodies collided. Instantly, Nathan sank lower, so he was on knees in front of me. Our eyes met, and he held my gaze, refusing to let me look away until he was inside of me. As soon as he filled me up, Nathan grunted and buried his head in the crook of my neck.

“You’re the only one who can make me feel this way, Sophie,” Nathan murmured against my neck. His lips parted, and he grazed the sensitive skin there. Meanwhile, I raked my fingers over the length of his back, stopping when I reached his butt and giving it a tight squeeze. He growled and nipped at my skin. His hands moved from the couch to my back, tracing every inch of skin, and every curve. When he sunk his nails into my waist, and his pacing changed again, it sent dual waves of pain and pleasure ricocheting through me.

Over, and over, we moved against each other, taking and giving in equal measure. It wasn’t long before we moved with a wild and animal-like urgency, desperate for each other and heedless of the party on the other side of the door. When I threw my head back and arched my back, Nathan’s arms dug into the sofa, and he rammed into me. He muttered my name under his breath, a chant falling from his lips. Nathan’s mouth traveled up to my ears, and he took one lobe between his teeth. When I made an incomprehensible noise in the back of my throat, he moved to the other one.

Wave after wave of desire built up within me, until it felt like I was going to explode. I gripped his butt and ground against him, frustrated and impatient for release.

Nathan made a low noise in the back of his throat and moved faster, vibrating and shaking on top of me, his eyes fixed on my face. “Coming inside you is the best feeling in the whole world.”

All too quickly, I came again, my hands flying to my chest as I struggled to breathe, feeling myself clenching on his hard length. Like clockwork, Nathan jerked and spasmed before warmth spread between my legs as he filled me up.

Slowly and with knees made out of jelly, I threw myself backwards and sank into the feather soft cushions. I pushed the hair out of my eyes and placed my hand atop my chest, rising and falling unevenly. Next to me, Nathan flopped down and heaved a deep sigh, shifted, and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. He pressed his lips to my neck, placing a soft kiss there.

“I’m not sorry I ruined your date.” I smirked, running my fingers through my hair. He slowly stirred, throwing his arm around my stomach and pressing his head against my chest.

“I’m not sorry, either,” he murmured. “I wanted to spend tonight with you.”

“Valentine’s Day?” I teased, poking his arm in response. “Ah, I get it. You want me to storm out this time?”

He looked up at me in mock outrage. “May I remind you that you’re the one who showed up on this day out of all others?”

I playfully pushed away his arm. “No, you’re right. It’s my fault.”

He snorted. “It is. You get the blame for this.” His eyes then gazed into mine with tenderness I wasn’t used to. “All of it.”

I knew I wanted him, and not just for tonight. I whispered, “Nathan?”

“Hm?” His index finger started drawing random lines across my thigh.

“How do you know if you’re falling in love?”

And his finger stopped in place.

Sophie Jones, standing in the middle of my office, was certainly an interesting sight. “How could I conceivably afford the apartment you’re offering me?” Her arguments, however, were wearing me down.

“I told you—for the millionth time—you’re going to be on the headcount.”

“On a freshly hired employee’s salary, it doesn’t add up,” she protested.
