“No worries! Take your time,” she says.

“Yeah, we’ve got things here,” Caden adds.

“Thanks again,” I tell them as I crouch to say goodbye to the kids. “You guys be good for Auntie Astrid and Uncle Caden.”

“We will,” they say before they run off with their friends.

“See you guys later,” Jude says as he takes my hand and leads me out of the house.

We head over to our van and Jude opens the door for me.

“Happy anniversary, mate,” he whispers as he leans in and kisses me.

“Happy anniversary,” I whisper back.

He closes the door and I buckle up while he climbs behind the wheel.

“Ready?” He asks and I grin.

“Let’s go.”

He revs the engine and we ride off into the sunset together, both of us looking forward to tonight and the rest of our lives.
