Oh Lord. She was falling for him. Her heart was still racing, and the idea of being at the fundraiser with him sent adrenaline spikes through her. To diminish some of the impact, she paced the floor.

Excitedly, MW lunged for her toes.

With a sigh, Brandy scooped up his rubber foot and tossed it into the living room, sending him skidding after it.

This toy alone would make her fall in love with Master Niles.

“Since I’m in Denver right now, I’ll send a car to get you,” he said.

“That’s ridiculous, Sir.”

“I don’t want to ask you to make the drive by yourself.”

“The weather forecast is clear.”

For a moment, he allowed the silence to grow. “So you’ve checked?”

Caught. Several times over the last twenty-four hours.

“When did I have you?” he asked. “Was it the dress?”

“It was the rubber foot, Sir. It will save me a fortune on pedicures.”

“I knew it. The dress fits?”

“As if it were made for me.”

“It was altered for you.”

She stopped pacing to collapse against the refrigerator.

“Can you be ready by ten o’clock in the morning? That will put you here around noon, more or less. The hotel has a spa.”

“While that sounds wonderful, I’m afraid it’s totally outside my budget, Sir.” No matter how tempting. “But thank you.”

“It’s part of the package deal with the room. It includes hair styling, manicure, pedicure, facial, massage.”

Seriously? Or was he making that up?

“Hell, there’s stuff on this brochure I’ve never heard of. Hot stones? Some of it scares me a little.”

Despite herself, and no doubt what he intended, she laughed.

“I’d hate to see them go to waste.” He paused. “Say, yes.”

He managed to get her to do that more often than anyone else.

“Are your pets taken care of? Or do I need to find someone for you?”

Her heart melted. “I can get a neighbor. We help each other out.”

“Your work schedule is clear?”

“I actually have this weekend off. Well, until Sunday night.”

“I’ll have you back before then.”
