Ty: You did it so I would miss you?
Indie: No, I . . . Do you know that a blow job is more intimate sometimes than penetration?
Ty: Today I believe it. Thank you for that little piece of yourself.
Indie: How is it that you always know what to say?
Ty: Only with you. What’s the plan for today? I mean, other than missing me.
Indie: I got a call from Gabe asking if I could take the girls to the zoo.
Ty: Are you going to?
Indie: Yeah, they need a break from their children and guests. Having twins is not for the faint of heart. Fortunately, Coda is coming with me. I’ll make sure to take pics of Myra and her favorite animals.
Ty: Instead of just sending me pictures of the zoo, send me selfies too so I miss you less.
Indie: Ha, we’ll see. I’m going to shower, get dressed and swing by your house to pick up some fun clothes for her.
Ty: I’m going to pretend that I understand that statement. By the way, did Lyric mean the whole you’re going to start your own company and leave me?
Indie: We’re looking into it, yes. I won’t leave Myra until we find a nanny for her.
Ty: Are you moving to New York or Paris?
Indie: Neither. We’ll be doing everything here, but obviously at times they’ll have to travel. Not me. I’m happy here.
Ty: But last night you told me why you came back from New York.
Indie: I regret falling asleep while telling you about my life. But to be honest, I prefer to stay in Seattle. If I leave, I won’t be able to visit my family as often and I’ll miss my murky weather.
Ty: What if I take you to a sunny place during the summertime?
Indie: Stop making plans with me.
Ty: For now, since I have to watch some plays and . . . your brother isn’t as laid-back as he looks.
Indie: He’s not. Have fun with him. I’m on my way out to pick up the little ones.
Ty: Thank you for doing that.
Chapter Forty
Indie: My grandparents want to know if you guys will be spending Christmas with us.
Ty: I would love to, but I promised Myra that I would take her to the beach—got the tickets back in July.
Indie: Know you’ll be missed.
Ty: By you?
Indie: The family, obviously. Me . . . I could care less.
Ty: I can buy you a ticket and take you with us.
Indie: And miss Christmas with the Deckers? Nope. It’s a magical holiday no one should miss. The artificial pond is going up next week. We’ll be ice-skating and drinking hot cocoa all day long.
Ty: Of course you have a pond and a magical Christmas. How was the zoo?
