Page 14 of My Summer Girl

“Just a feeling,” I say, wondering if that’s what Dulce is seeking. She’s brought up wanting to watch a couple and then doing her own scene one day. “I’d rather be prepared for it than have it booked for a private party.”

“As you wish,” she muses, writing out the letter, saying an incantation to bind it to vetted members of my club. Our mailing system goes to all current and past clients. It’s immediate and old-fashioned, but it’s always had a stylish flair and I refuse to be boring.

I head to my remote room. It’s magically inclined to hide from patrons and only opens to my blood and Dulce’s since we often meet here. It’s a safe way for no one to enter my domain without my permission.

She has a port-path she never takes off her neck, imbued with my blood, letting her in my home at any moment.

“Vex,” she lets out as I walk through the door. She’s here a little earlier than expected and when I see her glazed eyes, I half wonder if it’s from the effects of alcohol or her emotions behind the reason she’s looking that way.

She’s so full of life in my darkened room. Her peachy complexion against the dark purples and grays makes her a beacon for me.

“Tell me, little dove. Did you come here for what we usually do to escape reality for a bit or for something else?”

Fear keeps ten paces between us. Maybe it shouldn’t be fear, but it is. We’ve always worked well together, and her throwing this new desire into the mix scares me.

“I don’t know,” she admits, biting her lip with nerves. She does that—nibbles on the poor flesh, grinding her teeth into it like it’s going to soothe all the misery she feels. I want to kiss it, to stop her from hurting herself. If she wants pain, she has me to give it to her.

“What if we start simple? You spend some time in the Viewing Room and decide where you want to be and what you want to explore.”

“I just want...” Her voice trails off, a darkening blush tingeing her cheeks before she shakes her head. Without another word, she walks past me and out the door.

Did I do something wrong?

I don’t follow her, not knowing whether it’s for the best or not. I meant what I said. Her being in the Viewing Room might confirm to her that she’s just horny and doesn’t want to do more than get a release. But what she doesn’t understand is that if we cross this line, there’s no going back.

I’ll fuck her, and then she’ll be mine.

A weird feeling nestles under my rib cage, uncomfortable and annoying. I mindlessly rub the spot before deciding to search for Dulce.

She’s not one to overreact, but maybe the way I worded things felt like a brush-off? Maybe she needs more reassurance.
