Chains shrugs, an innocent look on his face, and I rolled my eyes. “What goes on in the club, stays in the club.” Is all he says.
Without a word, a look of devastation on her face, Sage walks away, Tiny calling her name and running after her, the baby so small in his massive arms.
“You ever do that to me; I’ll castrate you in your sleep.” I tell him, inwardly laughing when he winced. But he says.
“You have nothing to fear about me straying, little one. Why would I when I have you?”
“Good answer, babe.”
EPILOGUE
Chains - 6 months later
The last few months have been a whirlwind for the club and my brothers. Zoe and I have been solid, we’ve finally moved into our own home, a house I had built on club property. Kick and Everleigh were going from strength to strength, but I couldn’t say the same for Sage and Tiny.
The night of the cookout, Sage packed the kids up and left, only telling the girls where she’d gone. Zoe told me she returned to Washington, and has since refused to see Tiny, who has tried to contact her on multiple occasions, trying to apologize for his fuck up.
Lately, not only has he been neglecting his club duties as the VP, but he’s been neglecting his daughter. The women taking turns to look after her since Tiny’s been finding solace the bottom of a glass of whiskey. And no matter what anyone says, he’s ignored us all. I’m just waiting for the day Kick finally kicks his ass. That hasn’t happened yet, though.
I told him to go to Washington to plead for forgiveness and get her back. She can’t keep his kids from him forever. I know she’s pissed, but she still loves the big lug, she wouldn’t have done what she did if she didn’t love the guy.
My woman enters the clubhouse with little Bella, Tiny's daughter, as I finish my beer sitting with Ky, and I smile at them. The vet he's been working closely with during the restoration of their businesses has been a major source of stress for him.
Zoe stops by me and gives me a deep kiss, which I return. The baby in her arms demanding attention.
It’s then the tornado that is Tiny appears from the upstairs bedrooms, looking better than he has for the last six months. Freshly showered and dressed in a gray long-sleeved T-shirt and black jeans, his cut over the top, his boots scuffing on the concrete floor as he comes to a stop when he sees his kid.
Quickly taking his eyes from the little girl, he looks at my woman pleadingly. “I’m leaving for Washington. I’m going to get my woman and kids back. Can you look after Bella for me?”
Zoe tightens her jaw, still angry with my brother for what he’s done, but she can see he’s at least trying now, so she softens her stance.
“I’ve been looking after her for the last couple of months, asshole.” She tells him, and he has the decency to look a little contrite.
“I know, I appreciate it.” Tiny replies, remorseful.
“So, it’s no hardship to keep looking after her now. You better grovel at Sage’s feet if you expect to get her back,” she warns; turning back to me, she says, “Dinner’s ready, Ky, you coming?”
“Yes, ma’am,” he says, happily following behind my woman like a lost puppy. If I didn’t know that they had such a close friendship with absolutely no feelings involved, I would’ve banned him from coming to the house.
“Ah, ah. Enough of the ma’am stuff.” She calls over her shoulder and disappears outside again.
“She enjoys cracking the whip, doesn’t she?” Tiny whispers.
“It’s the best part of her.” I tell him with a chuckle. “Good luck in Washington brother, you’re gonna need it.”
He nods his head, a sadness washing over him. We give each other a one-armed hug, and a slap on the back, and Tiny leaves, the sound of his sled starting up vibrating inside me.
This is the life, we have our ups and downs, but we always have each other’s backs. And Tiny is no exception. The girls have been mad at him, but they’ve all stepped up for little Bella, and they’ll always step up for her and the club. No matter what.
With a satisfied smile, I check the time as I walk the short distance to the home I built, next door to Tiny’s and Sage’s house, which is sitting empty right now, and down the road from Kick and Everleigh. Max, Zoe’s dad, was joining us for dinner tonight. Their relationship has been strained over the last six months since Zoe found out that her father was seeing Emma, and didn’t tell her.
That woman was another form of crazy, she had a strange obsession with Caleb, and because she was so in love with him and would’ve done anything for him, she worked with him to get rid of Zoe, seducing Max in the process.
I climb the steps to the front door, and it swings open, my woman standing there holding Mr Boots in her arms.
“Bella asleep?” I ask, as I wrap my arms around her, going in for a kiss, stopping when I hear Ky’s voice.
“Come on, you can play kissy face when I leave. It’s time for dinner.”
I'm fed up with my brother eating dinner at our house every night since we've moved in, I'm ready to kick him out. But I don’t want to get on my woman’s bad side since she’s taken a shine to the fucker, so instead, I shut the door, slip out of my boots, and walk into the life I never in a million years thought I’d ever have. Making a life with the woman I never thought I’d again have as mine.
